Here She Is...Miss A-Monarcha

You knew her as RAWWWRRR...I EAT You


Now here she is....I didn't know she was this close to ready to hatch and fly. Mom brought this to my attention this morning, and since butterflies need a while to "inflate" their wings a bit (get some blood into them I guess) cause they come out of the chrysalis shriveled, the hatching probably happened around 7:30 this morning.
The last time I looked at the cocoons they were both still light green. The other one still is. I gotta keep an eye on that one now....he/she turned 2-3 days after this gal did.
They grow up SO fast.... So now she's out on her own. Nice to have given her a fighting chance...many caterpillars and chrysalises don't make it.
Parting is such sweet sorrow. The Bard of Avon had it nailed.

I was able to get some real close-ups 'cause she's "tame". A "wild" one, probably not so much.
