At the time of submitting this I had 3,948. I figured, since its the wee hours of the morning (2:30 a.m pacific) I would upload this now.

Postrendering techniques were used, and the text was put in. Now I use The Gimp 2. Gimp doesn't have fancy emboss/gradient techs for Text.

I took the dodge too (Thanks to the person in #DigitalMedia who hinted at it's use by asking if Gimp had it), and painstakingly put the highlites on the purple text! I also played with layers The background is a whole different layer (The fractal was done on transparency) Each line of text is its own layer and moved around accordingly.
Hence the fancy placement of my URL under the title.
