The Victory of Ramses II Over the Hittites

In Rameses Temple at andyserrano.deviantart.com/art… Abu Simbel, I found this well-preserved hieroglyphic depicting Rameses victory over the Hittites. We were not supposed to take photos. I can understand why. It's so that flashes will not degrade the paint. However, I did not use a flash and I waited until everyone was out of the temple and the guard was out of sight.

As I was trying to say: Thank you, I'm well educated on the subject, right down to the fact that Ramesses pushed a propaganda campaign to tell a false story on how he single-handedly defeated the Hittites even though it was a stalemate made only by the arrival of Egyptian reinforcements.  (Contributed by :iconTychoTMA-1:  TychoTMA-1)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramesses… Ramesses II (also known as Ramesses The Great and alternatively transcribed as Ramses and Rameses *Riʕmīsisu; also known as Ozymandias in the Greek sources, from a transliteration into Greek of a part of Ramesses' throne name, User-maat-re Setep-en-re)[4] was the third Egyptian pharaoh of the Nineteenth dynasty. He is often regarded as Egypt's greatest and most powerful pharaoh.[5] Ancient Greek writers such as Herodotus attributed his accomplishments to the semi-mythical Sesostris. He is traditionally believed to have been the Pharaoh of the Exodus.

I like this because of the way it's lit, I didn't know about the Ozymandias link. Thank You
