My most recent work. Done with Prismacolor pencils and some acryilc for lighter colors. This was my first major experiment with colored pencils on a dark paper (the paper was a nice royal blue) and I think it turned out very good. I am also making myself start putting backgrounds on things. I also had fun looking up interesting butterfly and moth wing patterns: his is based on a Hamadryas moth.
And what better to practice on than a gorgeous fey man? He stands alone, wondering who left this white lily, pristine and beautiful, alone among the tangled vines of ordinary pink roses. He looks away over the mountains, perhaps thinking of a lost love, or imagining there is someone else out there, waiting for him?
