Artist's Statement
I was going to do some brush work over it. But I finished the shading and looked at I thought it would end up ruining it. I got to admit, it has a certain anime vibe about it and I didn't want to mess it up. The star on the pummel is enough me thinks.
Anyways, the design I had imagined for the sword the officers use in Precipice of War's New People's China. Largely used as a ceremonial item of rank, the swords can additionally be used to direct orders. Although kept in sharp condition, they don't often get to see action outside of command and parades. Many officers opt out of bringing one into battle and instead replace it with combat knives and whatever standard weapon their unit uses. |
