"Teddy Bear" Cactus. Cholla are very successful and aggressive at spreading themselves around. Their needles have sheaths... they stick into an unsuspecting (O.K. careless) passer-by then work themselves back out and fall to the ground somewhere else.

Some people have said they actually "jump" onto you, but they just have long needles. :)
