Mandelbulb 3D 1.7.5.1

Just something I found while experimenting with formulas... I know the shape isn't really that original, but overall the composition came out ok.

The background is one fo my generically created star fields, partly made following some tutorial somewhere, and partly just hand drawn (more hand drawn really... the tutorial's "big stars" just weren't looking right, so I drew in the larger ones by hand, yes, that means one dot at a time)

The design of this, while in no way the same, kind of reminds me of one episode of Star Trek The Next Generation, where they visit a planet of happy, peaceful, child-like people... protected by some inter-dimensional beings aboard a semi-transparent vessel of some kind, orbiting the planet, and who become angry when they feel the Enterprise crew is "interfering" with its "children" on the planet below.
