<b>Smithville Water Fowl in Flight</b>

Another photo taken with my new Canon Telescopic Lens (75-300mm EF) this afternoon in Smithville Park - New Jersey. I followed him in Manual mode with my camera on the tripod. Since the 75-300 doesn't have Image Stabilization (I/S) it proved to be a cumbersome shot.... escpecially for a Noob photographer like me.

I kept the Aperture small (I think F/4.5 or 5 - the smallest the lens could get to let as much light in as I could) and then I raised the ISO to 3200 - with noise reduction activated in my menu because the high ISO causes such problems with photographic noise. I nixed the flash, since it was a combo of cloud cover and high noon sunshine. I set the white balance to daylight for this shot, because the sun had reappeared from behind a cloud the moment he started to move.

This image was shot in RAW, so I made color balance and contrast balances in post-processing on my EOS utility.
