Artist's Statement

Oh boy, it's been a while since I did anything related to Precipice of War. Probably because it's sort of died down and went to sleep in its home forum: The Sporum. However, I'm gearing up to revive it for posting on the MCF and I just need to collect some information from one last ex-player before doing it. The re-boot will take place five-years after when the now-dead version of Precipice left off, as such I want to pick up info on what various key-players want to do in five-years, and their goals.

This will be added to bio for "respected history" class players. Anyone going to play as them will need to pick up on that nation's goals and aspirations as well as recognizing its past.

I also thought I'd do some brush work on this in order to make it more interesting and stylized. I hope to do the same thing on a future piece so I thought I'd do this here to see how it turned out.

Also, info on the Bohai:

The Bohai - Designated CSI-401 - is the largest submarine in New People's China's navy. Coming in at 122 meters long it's a monster.

The craft served in the Japanese navy up until the Revolution of the 60's where a surprise attack had led to the capture of the Bohai and several Japanese ships in then Japanese held Dalain. Since then, the craft has been engineered to fit China's purpose and its specs dutifully copied for future replication.

As such, it's a "minor" diplomatic stumbling block between the communist guerrilla that is China and the Empire of China.

Like any submarine the Bohai possess the standard torpedoes. However unlike conventional submarines it possess a naval gun on its upper-deck to provide assistance with removing troublesome targets when charging its batteries as well as several (not shown) small anti-aircraft guns. In addition, a small hanger within the large craft holds a handful (3 or 4) small fighter planes which are launched via-catapult from the deck of the Bohai to engage targets or perform recon.

The Catapult has been upgraded from the original Japanese version to provide more "umph". Several other dampening upgrades have been done to keep its noise low, thereby making it more difficult to find.

The craft, being the prize it is, generally sails alongside its own body-guard. Together, this small task-force (complete with a sub carrying back-up diesel) is capable of sailing around the world, although the smaller subs lack the diverse munitions and numbers of shots as the Bohai.

It's campaigns include interfering with Japanese supply lines during the Korean Liberation, patrols, and more recently the "Finnish Incident" (the later of which will be expanded on when I reboot, as the RP sort of died in the middle of that, but it has its targets set on sinking a few key Spanish ships and well as disrupting reinforcement flow).

The Bohai is based off of this very real craft: [link]
