Auroras over Mjelle II

This actual picture is set with a HDR fused function of two pictures ! A little experimental time of mine, to show more of the actual show on the sky ! Also more work was given trying a new way to reduce noise with photoshop CS4 on the sky ;)

The northern lights was weak at this time, we waited and waited for the show that was reported, but which never came to us.
As i have seen now it was very active at other places here above the artic circle.

This was my start of the season shooting the Northern Lights above Bodø, Nordland my home !

The Northern Lights was quite weak this evening / night despite the high activity reported. But shit happens ! We had a great shoot with nice moonlight and bright stars upon us !
It was me and my friend Gaute`s start of the season ;)

We drove to Festvåg, where a lot of the pictures have bin shot, but didn`t see anything but weak lines, grey-ish looking :/

So we went on driving back to Bodø again spotting places from the car. Around a sharp turn we saw the auroras was building up above the Mjelle mountains ! We stopped the car, got the gear and ran out started shooting !

The show was only for 5 minuts or even less, so nothing lasted there.

We kept on driving and saw activity was growing over the sea in "Vestfjorden", so we drove to the local place "Mjelle"
We parked on a high point where we where able to have 300* view, the only thing blocking our view was the Mjelle Mountains.

At our view we got to see 4-5 outbreaks and was there the rest of the shoot which lasted from 23:16PM to 02:45AM :D
