Artist's Statement
...in a black pool of neglect. First off, I spelled it wrong on purpose. Second, the title is from a song by the Waco Brothers by Jon Langford. Third, he is the one I should apologize to. This isn't mine, but his. I was asked to draw this as a birthday present for a man's daughter. I still feel ugly about it, as I was asked to do a version of a Jon Langford painting. At first, I thought I would just do something similar, but I never had the time to really work it out. And as the birthday came nearer, I was no nearer to an original of any real value as I was at the start. Which is what this is. I feel not unlike Vonnegut's main character in Bluebeard. So I submit to you my whoredom, a drawing of the death of country music.
