Artist's Statement
She didn't liked this shortcut, but it was a much faster way home. Whenever she leaved the lights behind her to enter the dark shadows of this badly lighted way she was a little bit afraid and always imagined "things" in the pitch black shadows and trashcans.
Stop! Wasn't there a noise? She listened into the darkness before here... but it was nothing. Surely it was only a figment of her imagination. As she was on her way downstairs she heared it again and stopped... On her left side, something like... mud...! A sound as if somthing was pulled slowly out of thick mud... Wet and slimy! The origin of the sound was on her right side, but the faint noise was reflected by the buildings walls on her left, and so she stared into the darkness of the wrong direction... There was this muddy sound again... and some scratching! She remembered the increasing reports about missed people in the news during the last months and so she decided better to turn back to taking the long way to the city... Something warm dropped on her right shoulder. She gasped and instinctively she grabbed for it with her hand: Some kind of... rancid slime! Another drop hit her hair now... Paralized by fear she slowly turned her head to right side... She tried to scream, but only some croaking leaved her paralized throad... She saw it, but she still refused to believe it... She dropped her schoolbag and it felt down the stairs... It was too late to scream or to run, the slimy tentacle wrapped around her throad, in seconds around her chest, it pulled her with a violent jerk over the banister... kicking and squeming she was dragged toward the pulsarting, slimy maw, four long claws seized her body, the rancid odour emitted by this thing dazed her as the hungry creature started to devour her... With pulsating movements she was kneaded down, thick, slippery saliva saturated her schooldress, her screams were choked down to a frantic gurgling, only audible for herself as she was finally dragged into the stomach where the digestive acids instantly started to burn off her soft skin... Eaten alive! For the next hour she squeamed into the flexible stomach, flickering arching, sobbing for help in the dark depth. Fortunately for her the digestive juices had paralized and dissolved the pain-receptors of her skin very fast, but she feld how the acids dissolved her veins and how the blood leaved her body. Finally her mind slipped away into the warm redemption of unconsciousness, her last struggling came to an end, mambranous tissue embraced her twitching body, cointinuing to dissolve her flesh... Her left shoe, her schoobag and spectacles were found two days later... Another case for the police and more news for the newspapers. ------------------------------------------------------ The final testing of my new created monsters by Lara Croft, as i did with both Tentacurala-models and Hydravora, has a big, big, disadvantage... I got my creatures always badly injured back... you know, perforated with ugly bullet-holes, cutted off tentacles etc., the usual things that happens to poor creatures who encountering Ms. Croft ;-) So this time i choosed some innocent random schoolgirl instead to test the feeding-response of Tetradactylus in the wild :evillaugh: Technical side: I didn't made many night-scenes. If i count correctly this is the 5th, and so it is always a new setup of the lights and playing around with them. Here i used only two lights, a distant-light at a main-light and a second dim little distant-light to "lighten up" the shadows a very little bit. The brighter part on the right side was done during the post-production in PSP X. And yes, Tetradactylus comes only with a texture and a bumpmap. The shimmering, slimy effect on the maw and tongue need no stinky specular-map ;-) It can be only done in the materialsettings of DS. The settings are described in the readme.pdf that comes with Tetradactylus. I added only two goo-drops to the tongue-tip in PSP X. Tetradactylus for Poser/DS is available for free here: :thumb258354341: Okay, and now for semthing completely different...Freeeebie-credits!!
