Shark Tessellation

I've always been irked that sharks are such a popular theme for kids and for the Discovery Channel, yet their shapes are not as easily tessellated as done-to-death themes like lizards, cats, and birds.

So, when Spoonflower (dot com), a fabric printing company, had one of their weekly fabric pattern contests based on a SHARKS theme, I took this as the cue to try making sharks tessellate.

Those contests are free, by the way. Come and compete with me (and all the other folks who're better than I am).

People familiar with my work may notice that this shark tessellation is based on a diamond outline split horizontally into two sharks, like my other tessellation "Dolphins and Herons" ( [link] ). This shark pattern is just a tweaking of that bird + cetacean pattern.
