I love how I did the background and the bottom half of the character. I have no idea, the face (mask) wouldn't work no matter what I tried and eventually I gave up out of annoyance and just went with the original thing I did with the dreadlock piping.

This is my half of an art trade with :icontinker-domi: aka ~createdwithpassion who is a lovely artist!

So I have been doing a lot of research lately into how to improve my digital drawings/paintings and I have had some brilliant advice which was also influenced by PSG Art tutorial - brilliant!

So I decided I wanted to act upon what I have learnt and use it to create new art so I made a poll saying the first 3 people who want to do art trades can have an art trade. ~createdwithpassion asked me if I would do a "Steam Punk Pirate" I was given free range over everything except for the 'Steam Punk Pirate' bit and she wanted full body with a background...was the challenge.

So I went off to go find a stock image and found :thumb211594223: by the lovely *jagged-eye and :thumb207558443: from *Sceptre63 ...so decided to use it as reference and guide where lighting and shading would probably hit and also for insperation in creating something I've never really tackeled before.

I started working in black and white just to get a rough idea then enhanced with colour.

Please leave me crits/comments on how to improve future pieces of my art work. I feel I am really benefitting from everyones advice.

I made the baground and I'm thining of uploading it as a seperate deviation. Also I may play about with that mask a little and submit that too but I'm not sure yet.
