Commission for :iconrainfyre66:
This was requested to be a g3 80's rock version of the Germany exclusive g1 pony NightLight. Lots of bright colors, and a <b>crazy amount of detail over-load</b> was also requested by the customer, so I deliver my requests to suit my customers' tastes. Not others. Started this custom off with a full body repaint. Made a custom blend of acrylics with the pigments of caribbean aqua, turquoise blue, and neon blue. Eyes are improvised in an original style I made up as I went along. (You may recognize a re-occuring theme in some of my other original designs.) Symbol is hand-painted by me, and I laid down some base layers of gradients to give a soft blended outline of the symbols, and built up to the main pigments with blending pigments. (Just my way of doing things instead of copying Hasbro, lol.) Outfit is entirely hand-sewn, detailed in bias tape, hemp cording, chains, and ribbon. For the choker I cut off some width of the silver material and used it to detail the skirt, then glued some thicker black hemp cord to kind of "border" the choker. Did the same for the strip of rubber neon pink spikes; cut some of the width of the plastic off from around them, and added a border of ribbon to further funkify the accessory. Giant over-sized moon and star beads in the hair are hand-painted by me, and are a re-incorporation of NightLight's symbol so you can kind of recognize the symbol even while the skirt is on. ;) Skirt is completely removable so painted moon and star symbol can be admired by the customer, and the skirt has 3 different colored pastel zippers sewn onto it to compliment NightLight's original hair blend. Entire design is improvised and I made it up as I worked on this. NightLight's tail has the original hair blend of the original pony- Peaches & Cream, Lucky Clover, and Electric Banana. NightLight's mane has the same blend, but I added highlight and lowlight colors for depth. For the yellow (electric banana) section of hair, I added butter creme hair to calm down the bright ness. For the Luck Clover section (green) I added a hand-blend of Bobby Blue and After Midnight low lights for contrast. For the orange section (Peaches & Cream) I added firebird to brighten up the blend and make it less neutral. So every original hair color has a bright and neutral pigment, lol. Now I'm off to make KH2 Riku. |
