They say that the orcs once were elves that were trapped, tortured and tormented and eventually corrupted by evil. Then perhaps deed within these hideous and wicked beasts there is a spark of good. And maybe, sometimes the Orcs gaze up towards the sun, and some part of them long for its warmth and comfort, remembering those days before their fall. But its touch is painful to them. So they are forever denied the sun's gentle kiss.
This would explain their unrelenting hatred for us.
