Artist's Statement
Normally I would put a picture like this on my ~Captin-Catkin account but I know that no one will ever see it if I do that and I've spent way to many hours working on this to put it somewhere where no one will ever see it.
I started making this picture some time around, oh I want to say late October of 2006 and here I am submitting it, July 2007. I originally wanted the moon to be a lot bigger so that the fairy's head was just beneath the top of the moon but it didn't work out. I also would have loved to have made her skirt look like it was draping over a round moon rather than look as if it were sitting on a flat floor but I have no idea how that could be possible so here it is, as close as I can come to what I originally desired. Here's a link to what this picture looked like back in November [link] I's maintained the same concept and idea, but her dress was a huge amount of work and It took several layers to make her dress that color. Also, I used a prettier background and replaced the stars with prettier stars. The wings haven't changed but those took so much work! The wings are made of some fairly wings that had a brown outline and a light brown interior. I needed that shape of wing but a blue inside so I took a butterfly wing and rotated it, enlarged it, and then cropped it. Credits: Fairy: :iconLisajen-stock: ~Lisajen-stock [link] Wing outline: :iconsadestock: !sadestock Wing interior: :iconkayne-stock: ~kayne-stock [link] Stars: :iconSheisprettyStock: ~SheisprettyStock [link] Background: :iconPeace-of-Art: ~Peace-of-Art [link] |
