The Way

location: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto, Japan

reason: one month abroad to study japanese. kyoto has to be one of my favorite places in japanese, so rich in culture and history.
was brought here by my host-sister. i didn't even know this place existed when i watched Memoirs of a Geisha, I thought it was all props and fantasy. I was, of course, floored to find how wrong i was, as well as thankful. it was a treat, a special moment where you're not really sure if your dreaming, but if you are, you'd do anything not to wake up.
it's an place that will stay with you, where wishes are fulfilled if you're willing to trek up a mountain through the winding path of arches, munching of sparrows while keeping a watchful eye for fox spirits and more importantly their trickery.
