first piece for 2011. This is a potential enemy for a board game I've been working on. While it was designed for game asthetic purposes, I also had objectives of my own for the art side of the piece. I wanted to experiment more with lighting effects within the drawing. I ten to have a backlighting of some form or another in many of my works, but this time I was aiming for something a little more dynamic. To reach that, I decided to light the character from multiple angles with various colors. Theres a red underglow from the right which is probably the strongest mood setter in this piece. Then there is a soft blue grey light coming from behind, as well as the amber light which is more of the universal light here. As I mentioned earlier, this is the first piece for 2011, and I intend to step up the artistic abilitied by constantly challenging myself to try new things, as well as embelishing the old.
