Well, this dragon gave me troubles, I can tell you that. The last time I made this design was years ago...perhaps four, and I just couldn't replicate it. I actually had a mask misfire (it slumped and crimped and went lopsided so badly during the shaping process that I had to throw it away), and it destroyed my courage for a while.

But I was only daunted for a little while. I re-visited the old design and changed some things, and this new version of the old mask is, I think, MUCH better. It flows better and has more balance, and I even jacked up the colors a bit more too. All in all, I think it was worth the extra effort. ^_^

This mask is made entirely of 8oz tooling leather...hand carved and hand shaped like all my masks. Painted with bright Liquitex acrylics. There's a large dark blue goldstone cabochon, backset in the forehead, for extra sparkle!
