Artist's Statement
Title: Leaf-Mirror
Medium: Brass, Copper, Steel, Mirror Size of Work: 6.5 x 2.5 x .5 Date Completed: May, 2009 2009 Second Place Scholastic Art Competition. This hand mirror is held together using cold connections, in this case rivets and the tension created from the steel wire that wraps around the piece. A design of veins is hammered into the copper that forms the upper leaf, while the outer steel echoes the shape of the lower leaf.
