Description
We came along... millions of years after everything else.
We took what we could get our hands on. We fought over land. We lived to make and spend money.
We built over what was considered 'spare land' with no thought of other living beings and their homes.
We built apartment buildings and shopping centres and business districts, while the animal species all grew into extinction.
With no financial need for trees all they soon disappeared.
Soon... there was no room left. They had built over the top of everything. There was no more resources left. They had no food left. They had no more oil and wood and water. It was only NOW that they realised they had a problem.
They had built their own prisons. They had built their own tombs.
There was no way off this planet.
and if they were all going to die, then so they would take the planet down with them
Its been recoloured.... to show the artificial light of this fucking hideous planet.
This has been scanned in, and in the process came out a completely different colour to how I painted it.
I used yellow, and somehow it came out red and pink.
Theres also some pollution in the black but you cant really see it in this picture.
I've since painted over it, but the yellow is still there.

even though this painting is in my opinion, fucking hideous...
this particular swedish hippy that I've dedicated it to is very, very pleasing to the eye.
Everything she stands for is the complete opposite of what this painting represents.
Its strange... considering this painting is one of my greatest fears...

And I still love it to pieces.
And to see the amount of work you've put on this painting makes me all warm inside. You are really burning with interest into this subject..this matter....
And to see this re-edited painting as some kind of a "further step" in the horrible future we all might see - makes me feel.. nervous, angry and.. sad.. sad because everything we seem to get our hands on - gets ugly.. and or destroyed
We can't take care of anything living
We just fight - conquer - and destroy every beautiful thing we can get our hands on..
I want to compare this with the fact that; if you ever have seen a young child look at flowers that grows on a field(or imagine yourself when you were in that age).. a child do not stand and watch the beauty of the flowers - the child have got to HAVE the beauty - and therefor pick the flowers - and later the flowers picked; die.
Just because it's there
we have to have it
It's the same thing with the food industry, fish, meat, you name it
And the forest industry.. more and more forest get cut down every day - do we need it all? No...
We just take what nature gives us, as much as we can, to keep that wheel spinning - that wheel of constant work - constant production - constant manufacturing - constant destruction..
If we carry on with this way of thinking much longer - there won't be much left..
Anyone can figure that out..
This, which we do as we are young, we also do, when we get old..
and we are slowly picking up our planet - admiring its beautify and killing it softly..
