Part of the Otto-man series
Model: Otto Monné Photo: myself Picture Information: This photo was done while scouting for a photograph inside of an abandoned area. I took the idea from an amazing photographer `gnato in his photo ([link]. So in my own attempt to re-create such an amazing shot, I grabbed my friend and looked all over for a spot. This was taken in an old funeral home that was now being turned into another store. I basically used the tv as a prop and had the model do hand stands all day, so at one point I started to picture shots in my head and got the right angle. It's hard imagining a photo up-side-down when your looking the right side up but the key is to provide a lot less ground room and focus more on the post-work while keeping the details in frame such as the TV and a spuradic Otto =) Post Work: I took this in photoshop CS2 and right away flipped the image so my eye could work well with what I was thinking about. I thought of how to take different approaches to my color edits and decided to desaturate the entire photo at about -25%. I then went to curves and worked with the red channel and puched on the bottom left to produce a soft blue tone and then using all three channels, emphasized contrast. I then added a border and thats about it! Hope you all like, its proably my first surreal photo/shoot and again, much credit goes out to `gnato for the idea and inspiration  |
