i was playing spyro the dragon the other day and decided i wanted to draw him, but i decided to go chinese style for one reason or another, and this was the result. it is supposed to be OLD SPYRO. that's why the horns are shaped as they are and why his fur/spikes going down his back are more yellow than orange, and why he's actually purple instead of pinkish purple.

and before the above statement sparks some old spyro vs. new spyro battle i'd like to inform you i have nothing against new spryo. i prefer the old one for many many reasons, but i'm not insulting your new guy. so please keep any 'new spyro is better than old spyro or vice versa' to yourselves because i really don't wanna hear it. i've already gotten bashed enough as is over this picture before i scanned it, never mind uploading it.

speaking of scanners, my scanner ate the colors. they're more contrasting on the actual paper, there's more shading than there appears to be. >_> -smashes scanner- YOU RUINED MY EYES!! errr.... spyro's eyes!

another thing: please no comments on the scales. i like them, i did them this way on purpose to make them more rounded instead of diamond shaped as it made the picture more flowing and cartoon like. i understand a lot of you out there might have something to say about me having to work on my scaling, but as i've said over and over <b>i know they don't look realistic</b>- they're not supposed to. so please stop nitpicking them.

i made a big mess with this one. drawn all by hand and colored in copics o.o so my hands got real messy. and then i took some chalk pastels and ground some dust out of them, and used a cotton ball to make the background. i even dusted some on spyro to make him blend with his background even more.
