Artist's Statement
Her captain is coming alongside, the boat pilot having very properly brought it around under the stern gallery.
I very wanted to convey grace, scale and motion, I wanted her to be beautiful. Sometimes steampunk can be a bit heavy-metal, which is cool, but I was thinking of how light and graceful the Eiffel Tower is. Done in mixed media in Pigma technical pens, Prismacolor markers, Sharpie pen & poster paint markers and guache, thinned with water and sometimes tears. :-) Hail to my friend Matt who shot the original on his 18 MP Canon photograph-making-machine. A few close-ups will be forthcoming. |
