<b>Amur tiger</b> (Panthera tigris altaica, tygr sibirsky) from ZOO Nuremberg, Germany :D

Original black mug with this Amur tiger photo costs only 7.80 USD! :giggle:

<b>Story of the photo:</b> this Amur tiger mommy was totally fed up with her baby, who kept chasing her, so she finally jumped on the tree, where the youngster could not annoy her :giggle: clever mom!

<b><u>INFO ABOUT THE ANIMAL:</u></b>

<b>Name:</b> Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica)
<b>Location:</b> Russia, near Amur river and also China
<b>Size:</b> 3,3 m long body + tail, 1,25 m high <b>weight:</b> 300 kg
<b>Diet:</b> deers, boars, wapiti, elks, bears, fish, rabbits
<b>Conservation status:</b> Critically Endangered
<b>Interesting facts:</b> ASmur tigers do not live in groups. Every tiger has its own territory and cats meet only to mate. Only female then take care of 1-5 kittens. Father does not look after his babies. Other males can kill the cubs, so mother must be very careful and she looks for her cubs until they are 2 years old <b>|</b> Amur tiger is the biggest of all tiger subspecies and is the largest living felid <b>|</b> there are only some 300 Amur tigers living in the wild and 1000 tigers who are held in ZOOs <b>|</b> Amur tigers swim very well and they can swim for quite long distance <b>|</b> they are threatened by hunters who kill them for their amazing fur <b>|</b> Amur tigers live in the area, which is almost all the time covered with snow. So tigers have very thick fur and their huge paws have function of snow-shoes <b>|</b> Amur tiger hunts also during day, not only in the night <b>|</b> they hide their prey to come back later and eat it
