Artist's Statement
Jaroq had a miserable childhood. His father was an alcoholic and regularly abused his wife and a son he never really wanted. A cruel and sadistic bastard, he was always looking for ways to belittle his son and point out his mistakes, convincing him he was worthless and weak. Every day was a nightmare for Jaroq. After the death of his parents, he lived with his uncle who did the best he could to heal the wounds, but the boy's psychic scars never fully healed. It's difficult for him to trust people, he can never get over his mistakes or shortcomings, and has a deep-seated hatred for authority. Still, Jaroq has terrible nightmares about the abuse. This here isn't really his father as much as it is Jaroq's perception of him.
I'm quite proud of myself. This is the scariest thing I've ever drawn...actually the only scary thing I've ever drawn. Constructive criticism welcome. |
