"Too much of water hast thou, poor Ophelia"
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a HUGE Shakespeare fan. I'm very taken with the characters of Ophelia and Desdemona; constant, good hearted women who are sorely mistreated by those whom they love and who claim to love them in return. Nothing cuts deeper than that betrayal. My sketch of this depicts Ophelia standing in the lake, just on the verge of wilting but I simply couldn't face colouring that part yet. It will come eventually ;) I tried something new with the colouring. I rather like the effect. It's a little more sombre than my usual method, as befitting the story behind the inspiration. |
