Artist's Statement
a split second shot of a water drop hitting my Casio watch. Reminiscent of "Holding a Piece of Time" [link] and hopefully keeping with its standard of high speed macro photography shooting.
I used my brother's camera for this shot, an Olympus C740UZ, shooting with an aperture of F/3.2, ISO of 200 and 1/1000 sec shutter speed. My favorite aspect of this photo is the time-catching moment of having a water drop hit on a watch. my only regret is not having the time on the watch clearer. I took about 20 shots to get this one right. I already have experience taking similar shot so I can get some good shots just by learning the timing from the drop to the time it hits and feeling the camera's shutterlag so I can press down in time for it to catch the drop. Takes a while, but it's worth it. |
