This is a lesson in drawing "hard shadows". Rather than break down every single step on this one, I wanted to show some people who have asked me about drawing really dark drawings.

Step 1
In this step, I have already drawn the outline, parts of the background, the eye to about 75% and have put an un-blended layer of 2B (Staedtler pencils) by holding it sideways. I outlined where the darker eye will be and did his left (our right) eye using H, B and 2B. I also used a finishing nail, mounted in a clutch pencil, to scratch small hairs in HIS right eyebrow and upper lip.
