Walking through all of the rooms in the large fraternity house I couldn't help but feel at little disappointed. The weekly Saturday afternoon kegger was well underway and I had not yet run across any great beer bellies. The parties here usually featured at least a few young, muscular men with impressive gut development. True, there were several decent bellies; stretching tight T-shirts or poking out from under cut-off football jerseys; but nothing really spectacular.
I turned the corner and ran into one of the fraternity "brothers" that I knew. Long dark hair, a goatee, and the requisite black T-shirt and boots completed his look as a stereotypical "metal head". However, he did not have the standard skinny body common among the hard rockers. His build had always been more of the athletic type but now a very round gut had replaced his flat stomach. And though not a huge belly, it was quite a change from only several months ago.
