My custom plank theme that's basically a better elementary OS Jupiter dock theme.

To install:
- Extract the files and place them into ~/.config/plank/ replacing the existing files (this will overwrite the default theme, so back it up if you care to).
- Plank should immediately reflect the changes. If not, it will after restarting.

Updated Tue Dec 11, 2012: Renamed from "Pantheon" to "Jupiter Redux" since the Pantheon theme is now white. Also removed "Renderer" from the section titles so it won't get overwritten with a Plank update.

A simple Plank theme I made to look like the Android 4+ dock.

To install:
- Extract the files and place them into ~/.config/plank/ replacing the existing files (this will overwrite the default theme, so back it up if you care to).
- Plank should immediately reflect the changes. If not, it will after restarting.

Recommended icon size: 48px.
Recommended alignment: 0 (panel-style)

Looks alright on dark backgrounds, but looks like crap on anything bright. Also, I can't remove the side borders in the theme, but setting Alignment=0 in your settings file will do the trick.

This icon theme for Gnome provides monochromatic icons for panels, toolbars and buttons and colourful squared icons for devices, applications, folder, files and Gnome menu items. Four themes are included to fit with light or dark themes/panels.

This work is released under the GNU/GPL license. Sources can be downloaded here : [link]

You like my work (or to encourage me to draw an icon for your favorite application), please consider a small Paypal donation at matthieu.james@gmail.com :)

INSTALLATION:
Download the tar.gz file and extract it. In the new folder created, run the ./INSTALL script to choose the distribution logo (Ubuntu, by default) and the Gnome menu icon. If run as root, the script will copy the iconsets to /usr/share/icons to made them available to all users. Some default icons used by Rhythmbox and Dockmanager may be also replaced.
Run ./UNINSTALL as root to restore defaults icons.

Faenza icon theme is available to install for Ubuntu users via a PPA repository. View the README file for instructions and a list of known issues.

As the file is the too big for DA submission policy, you can download the archive form the dedicated Google Code page: [link]

TIPS:
  • Ubuntu 11.10: the Unity panel has a strange behavior with some icons compared with the previous version (and Gnome 2 panels of course), especially with user menu and battery state icons. You might use one of the to new themes instead of the classic ones: Faenza-Ambiance is suitable with dark panel and toolbars (inherits Faenza-Darkest theme), Faenza-Radiance with light panel and controls (inherits Faenza theme).

  • Some applications are configured to always use the same icon regardless of the selected theme. To display the Faenza icon, edit as root the /usr/share/applications/application_name.desktop file and locate the line beginning with 'Icon='. Replace the fullpath icon name by the one of the Faenza icon (usually, it's the name of the application itself) without the extension.
Don't forget to make a backup before changing one of those files.
E.g. Vim desktop file is /usr/share/applications/gvim.desktop
Some desktop files can be located in /usr/local/share/applications or in your ~/.local/share/applications folder (e.g. Steam desktop file is somewhere in ~/.local/share/applications/wine).
Here is a partial list: emacs23, gcolor2, bluefish, hardinfo, setroubleshoot, gufw, pithos, vim, rssowl, netbeans, gazpacho, guake, all commercial games, etc

  • If you want to use the new Gnome contact application, edit its desktop file (/usr/share/applications/gnome-contacts.desktop) to use the specific (and beautiful) icon named gnome-contacts ;)

This is my first time uploading something like this.

I'm running elementary OS 0.2 Luna and am using InSync for my Google Drive. One limitation of Pantheon-Files is that it's nigh impossible to customize folder icons. Unless you're replacing one of the XDG templates. Since I never use it, I just changed my "Documents" folder to "Google Drive" and then made a new folder icon to match.

The zip offers the custom icon and also a short README to show you how I changed the "Personal" bookmark.

I hope this helps someone!

The original Elementary-Icons set is by :icondanrabbit:.

These are elementary-ish styled indicator icons for Copy cloud storage client. I made the bird more white to match other indicators, the loading/uploading bars a more elementary blue removed the loading bars and replaced with a single syncing icon, and made the error(red), paused(grayed out), and update(blue) icons more based on the symbolic icons in the elementary theme. Instructions on how to install them are in the README.txt. Let me know what you think! :) (Smile)

UPDATE 12/17/13: removed the loading bars and replaced with a single syncing icon and made the error icon red, paused icon grayed out, and update icon blue.

___________

version 3.5.0:
Notes: If the icons don't show up in your menus make sure the .desktop file points to the icon, e.g: Inside Python2.7 .desktop file locate the line Icon= and replace the value with "python" or "python2.7" (without the quotes).
So it looks like this:
  • Icon= python - This looks for the SVG file and uses it.
  • Icon=/usr/share/pixmaps/python3.3.xpm - This forces the ugly pixelated python icon.
This is true for those menu entries/applications that don't display the correct icon even though the icon is indeed available in the Nitrux theme. If it still doesn't display the icon please report it as missing, thanks!.

Ceti-2 is a theme for GTK 3, GTK 2 and Gnome-Shell. It supports GTK 3 and GTK 2 based desktop environments like Gnome, Unity, Budgie, Pantheon, etc.

Ceti-2 is the official continuation of Ceti for Gnome 3.14 and 3.16. It has been completely revamped and is now based on Vertex.

Requirements

  • Gnome/GTK 3.14 or 3.16
  • The gnome-themes-standard package
  • The GTK 2 murrine engine

Main distributions that meet these requirements are

  • Arch Linux and Arch Linux based distros
  • Ubuntu 15.04
  • elementary OS Freya
  • Debian Testing/Unstable
  • Gentoo
  • Fedora 21 and 22
  • OpenSuse 13.2 and Tumbleweed

Derivatives of these distributions should work, aswell.

If your distribution is not listed, please check the requirements yourself.

Installation

Important: Remove all older versions of the theme from your system before you proceed any further.

sudo rm -rf /usr/share/themes/Ceti-2
rm -rf ~/.local/share/themes/Ceti-2
rm -rf ~/.themes/Ceti-2

Packages

Arch Linux users can install the theme from the AUR

aur.archlinux.org/packages/cet…

aur.archlinux.org/packages/cet…

Manual Installation

To build the theme you need

  • autoconf
  • automake
  • pkg-config or pkgconfig if you use Fedora
  • libgtk-3-dev for Debian based distros or gtk3-devel for RPM based distros
  • git if you want to clone the source directory

If your distributions doesn't ship separate development packages you just need GTK 3 instead of the -dev packages.

Install the theme with the following commands

1. Get the source

If you want to install the latest version from git, clone the repository with

git clone git://github.com/horst3180/ceti-2-theme.git --depth 1 && cd ceti-2-theme

If you want to install the latest stable release, run

git clone git://github.com/horst3180/ceti-2-theme.git --depth 1 && cd ceti-2-theme
git fetch --tags
git checkout $(git describe --tags `git rev-list --tags --max-count=1`)

or download it from github.com/horst3180/Ceti-2-th… and cd into the extracted archive

2. Build and install the theme

./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr
sudo make install

Other options to pass to autogen.sh are

--disable-gnome-shell         disable GNOME Shell support
--disable-gtk2                disable GTK2 support
--disable-gtk3                disable GTK3 support
--disable-metacity            disable Metacity support
--disable-unity               disable Unity support

--with-gnome=<version>        build the theme for a specific Gnome version (3.14, 3.16)
Note: Normally the correct version is detected automatically
and this option should not be needed.

After the installation is complete you can activate the theme with gnome-tweak-tool or a similar program by selecting Ceti-2.

Uninstall the theme

Run

sudo make uninstall

from the installation directory, or

sudo rm -rf /usr/share/themes/Ceti-2

Extras

The extra directory in the source directory in contains a Chrome/Chromium theme and an alternative metacity theme, which hides the window titles of maximized windows (doesn't work on Gnome 3.16).

To install the Chrome/Chromium theme go to the extra/Chrome folder and drag and drop the Ceti-2-chrome.crx into the Chrome/Chromium window. The source of the Chrome themes is located in the source "Chrome/source" folder.

To install the alternative metacity theme, copy the Ceti-2-alternative-metacity folder to /usr/share/themes and select it as window theme.

Troubleshooting

If you get artifacts like black or invisible backgrounds under Unity, disable overlay scrollbars with

gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode normal

If you experience Gnome-Shell crashes, replace the "gnome-shell.css" file in the "/usr/share/themes/Ceti-2/gnome-shell/" folder with the "gnome-shell-no-crash.css" file

sudo mv /usr/share/themes/Ceti-2/gnome-shell/gnome-shell-no-crash.css /usr/share/themes/Ceti-2/gnome-shell/gnome-shell.css

After receiving many requests, I decided to make the elementary theme for Pidgin. The original was built for Empathy, but even this is very clean and integrated into the interface. There are some improvements concerning the transparency of the icons, I will update also the empathy version soon.

Criticism welcome.

Installation *nix:
Extract the theme into ~/.purple/themes.

Installation Windows:
Extract the theme into: C:\Documents and Settings\$USER\Applications Data\.purple\themes
Installation Windows 7:
Extract the theme into: C:\Users\$USER\AppData\Roaming\.purple\themes

Windows Theme Download [PNG of the first version]

Update 1!

Hello! I have just release a new (let me say :D) awesome version of elementary pidgin.
This version is compatible with dark theme and many icons was totally re-styled!
Let me know what you think and stay tuned, a similar version (I think better) version will be release for empathy!

Update 2!
Our talented mate Nicolas from Argentina a few days ago released a new docky's helper, where you can controll you status with a righ click on your mouse. I decided to revamp the original icon from elementary theme for fits with this new docky feature and I modified the script for aim on svg and not png for a better rendering. The result? you give me the answer!
When you will download the archive you'll find two archives: elementary.2.zip (the theme already released) and pidginicons.zip (the real news). For the first the instructions are the same of everytime; for the second, you only need to extract the archive where you want and, after, double click on install.sh and select run.

You *NEED* latest docky ppa!

The default Dropbox tray icon looks really out of place in the Windows 7 system tray,
so I decided to make this one based on the style of Windows 7 system tray icons.
Recommended icon replacements:
-Windows 7 Remove Hardware Icon:

-Rainmeter Tray Icon:

Download includes ICOs for all Dropbox states.

To change the Rainmeter icon, place the Rainmeter.ico file into Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\Icon
and create the "Icon" folder is necessary.

Then add this to Rainmeter.ini (right-click tray icon -> Edit Settings):

[TrayMeasure]
Measure=CALC
TrayMeter=BITMAP
TrayBitmap=Icon\Rainmeter.ico

After that, restart Rainmeter and you should see the changes.

Important note: This theme is designed around Gnome 3.4 and the 1.0.2 version of the Unico engine. I do not work with any development releases. This theme will break in Gnome 3.5.

The included INSTALL file have all the installation instructions.

GTK3 ENGINE REQUIRED
This theme requires the Unico GTK3 engine version 1.0.2 or later. (Only if you're using Gnome 3 or GTK3 applications.)
- [link]
(Available as gtk-engine-unico in ArchLinux community repo.)

GTK2 ENGINES REQUIREMENT
If you don't install these engines - GTK2 applications will not be styled. So it's NOT a bug if for example GIMP or Firefox looks like Windows 98. It's just you who haven't installed the gtk2 engines. :)

- GTK2 engine Murrine 0.98.1.1 or later
- GTK2 pixbuf engine or the gtk(2)-engines package

Fedora/RedHat distros:
yum install gtk-murrine-engine gtk2-engines

Ubuntu/Mint/Debian distros:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine gtk2-engines-pixbuf

ArchLinux:
pacman -S gtk-engine-murrine gtk-engines

Other:
Search for the engines in your distribution's repository or install the engines from source.

OTHER INFO
Wall: [link]
Icons: [link]
Font: Liberation Sans Narrow Condensed (Not the default font in this theme.)

The left bar is avant-window-navigator. The theme is included.

KNOWN ISSUES/BUGS/DECISIONS
- In some flavors of Gnome 2.32 the right-click menu on some panel applets have a white text and uses the pixmap hover effect. There's no known fix for this.

- Dialog windows in Gnome 3 fallback mode have weird borders. My current recommendation is that you detach them with gconf-editor. Open gconf-editor and untick this key: /desktop/gnome/shell/windows/attach_modal_dialogs.

- Legacy metacity theme is not borderless. (It doesn't look good.) Use gnome-shell to get anti-aliased rounded corners. ;-)

- The IDE software Eclipse/Aptana may have some strange color bugs. If you know of any fixes, please let me know.

- Xfce panel applets have some strange bugs. Possible cause is because you need to use a background image for your panel. This theme is not designed to be used with a trillion inconsistent panel applets.

Have a lil fun with your computer and give it a cool, flat look!

As usual, please read the install notes very carefully- I checked about a thousand times to make sure that all the steps were correct, so if you follow them, you shouldn't run into any trouble.

As you can see here: [link]

Installation instructions included this time. :P
Update: Also made a small installation script.

If you're using metacity instead of emerald, this theme will look perfect with my Zuki metacity theme.

This theme is designed to be used with the included panel background. It will look horrible with a solid colored panel! ;)

Updates:
2011.03.30
- Minor fixes.
- Removed nautilus-e.rc because I can't test it.
- Added an installation script that will install and apply the GTK theme. (Not the panel or window decoration theme.)

2011.03.26
- Added a GtkRange pixmap slider. The murrine one had a bad contrast.

Hi everyone, sorry for delay but my laptop had power issues.

Here it is: elementary Lion 1.1

There was a bug in archive but theme is now reuploaded with proper archive.

There are some minor bugfixes, and theme is more polished.

Theme requires only Murrine! (like eGtk)

It was designed to use with elementary-nautilus and other elementary software but it will look good with everything ;-) Like eGtk.

It's just elementary Gtk (eGtk) mod, so credits goes to elementary team (and DanRabbit especially) - they made 99% of this theme!

Credits goes also to dg09 who made excellent Lion gtk theme which inspired me to make this mod.

::In Package::
In package you can find to themes:
1. elementary Lion for classic gnome session
2. elementary Lion for Unity
Both themes should run both on 10.10 and 11.04

there are also panel backgrounds, wallpapers and AWN themes

::Instalation::
- Unpack ".zip" file. You will get theme ".tar.gz" file which you can install via your theme manager (in ubuntu just drag and drop it), or you can unpack it and copy it to your ".themes" folder (hidden in your user folder)

::Hack::
There is hack which you can apply :
-it hides ugly arrow/triangle in gnome main menu (if you use one)
-it hides focus around gnome main menu
-it disables resize grip (which looks horribly in 11.04)

if you want to apply this hack just enter "Hack" folder, show hidden files and copy them to your user folder (your main folder)

Have fun

Five KDE start-here buttons in Faenza Style. They're part of my work in spare time (and some procastrinated time), a decent port/fork of Faenza for KDE - it will be released as soon as I can.

Installation:

Just copy the contents of the theme you want to ~/.kde4/share/icons/<your_theme>/places/ (or /usr/share/icons/<your_theme>/places/ for system-wide installation), and reload your icon theme.

Have fun!

I've recently gotten into Minecraft-- a strangely fun game. But the icon, though a good representation of the game's graphics, bugged me so I made up this one.
