The next few weeks were a bit of a blur to Shawn. After his first date with Jessie, he called her a couple of times during the week, then took her out again on the following Saturday for dinner. He reserved a table at a swanky place called Penny For Your Thoughts, which was again, a pokemon themed restaurant with a Persian and two Meowths as its mascots. Only the wealthy dined there frequently, as it was indeed expensive, yet this was a treat so money didn't matter. Shawn wished to show Jessie that he wanted to make some true effort to impress her, to show her that nothing was too troublesome for him. He remembered her reaction when he told her.
“Penny For Your Thoughts?!” Jessie screeched over the phone, “Are you serious?! That place is far too extravagant for us, surely! I don't even have a cocktail dress!”
“It's okay, trust me, it's no problem,” Shawn laughed, “You don't need to wear anything

There was an awkward silence as Shawn and his pokemon sat at the table, awaiting their food. He was so hungry, he felt he could have taken on the Kangaskahn challenge. The Lucky Farfetch'd had an 'eat this massive portion and get on our wall of fame' event, in which they cook up an extra large portion of 5 meals on the menu. If a participant consumed it all within a time limit, he would have his bill waived and have his photo on the wall of fame. Shawn laughed quietly to himself at the thought. That's one way to get a stomach ache. Maybe another time.
“Here you are, Sir,” a familiar voice began, “Sorry for the wait, I hope you enjoy your meals.” It was the pretty waitress. She was a bit more composed this time, but her face was still flushed and she didn't seem very confident. Shawn smiled at her.
“Thank you very much, uh,” he looked at her name tag, “Jessie. What a cute name.”

The sky began to darken as the last hours of daylight fled the winter weather. The trees, bare from the cold, made the streets look exposed and naked. The windows were laced with frost, and people outside huddled in their thick, seasonal clothing. The street lights turned on, according to their winter schedule. Shawn checked his watch.
“It's only 4pm and it's almost pitch outside,” he told his co-worker. The other man nodded.
“Yep, times like this I'm happy all my pokemon are electric,” he replied, “They all know Flash, better safe than sorry!”
“Voltorb knows Flash, but I'm happy I have my Growlithe around!” Shawn grinned, “They always keep me warm!”
“You two!” a gruff, deep voice called from the office across the room.
“Yes, boss!” the two men answered in unison. They always got a little nervous when their manager addressed them.
