NoontimeEveryday I wait by the phone as noontime approachesMore Like This
Watch hopefully as the clock tics the hour and then two
Each day I hope today will be the day
The phone will announce that I am not forgotten.
Once you were faithful and came daily to my rescue
Noon was the hour on which my hopes survived and clung
Two o'clock and hope raises the white flag of acceptance
Today I surrender and fight for love again tomorrow.
They say hope springs eternal
Mine will not fade or flee
It only slumbers until noon tomorrow
Perhaps that will be the day
When noon arrives, my hope will once again awaken
My love is truly eternal, only you has noontime forsaken.
The Overturned Apple CartDear Man-o-Mine,More Like This
I didn't sign on for this. You said you would take care of me and here I am taking care of you. You seem to go out of your way to make my life as difficult as possible. Always upsetting the apple cart. There will be an apple shortage one day and it will be your fault. I take that back! There won't be a shortage because I run around behind you picking up each and every one of those damn apples. The same apples I work my ass off to buy! My dream was that you bring home the apples and I make apple pie. Nice, fresh, home-made apple pie straight from the oven! That's how it should be.
I can't blame you. The whole damn family thing is all topsy turvy. There are apple carts turned over everywhere. Apples rolling willy-nilly all over the place. The streets will flow with apple sauce. I hate apple sauce! Society will be one big mushy mess!
I wonder which apple was the first to rot and ruin the lot
BurialI can still see you in there, the man with whom I fell in love.More Like This
I wish I could reach you, buried with six feet above.
It is not dirt that holds you, but anger, pride and fear.
I have shovelled to exhaustion, my efforts are sincere.
For each clump of earth I move, you pull two more down.
I only wish to comfort and free you from where you're bound.
Soon I will collapse despairing; all my resolve wasted and dead.
Who will be the one to toss numbing soil upon my head?
