Three Years AgoMore Like This
Three years ago I really wasn't concerned about what happened in the world around me. Why should I? It didn't affect me. I had my safe corner of the world where the 'bad guys' could never enter; where heroes thrived. But my world has since been shattered, my heart wounded and left to bleed.
It was early that Tuesday morning, mabye eight-fifteen. My mom had just dropped me off and I was sitting in the hall outside of my first period class.
I was a freshman in high school then. Still wet behind the ears in the way of the world.
I sipped at my caramel frappuccino as my Geography teacher made his way down the hallway, fumbling in his pocket for the keys to the room.
"Hey. Hey! You know you shouldn't be drinking that in the hallway." He gave me a look, but smiled. There wasn't a mean bone in his body.
