The Mountain Troll is one of the fiercest predators known in its home habitat of the Sky-Toucher mountain range. Despite this, V. mons and its close relative the Forest Troll, are related to such non-threatening creatures as gargoyles, the numerous species of tarasque, and barghest. V. mons is a massive animal, weighing in excess of 1,400 lbs and when reared up reaching nearly 9 feet tall, with a squat, heavy skull, four large canines in the typically toothless front section of the jaw, a short tail, and highly robust limbs.
In spite of this vast bulk, V. mons is a surprisingly swift and powerful animal, moving at a brisk 4 mph when walking, and topping out at a respectable 15 mph when charging.
