Ever since he first stepped into the Animus, Desmond had been getting horrible nightmares at night. Sometimes you heard him sobbing and sniffling as tears streamed down his cheeks, and sometimes he'd howl and scream and murmur things underneath his breath as though he was giving the world his last words. It hurt you to hear him in so much pain.
You had asked Rebecca and Shaun if there was anything they could do, if there was some bug in the Animus causing this to happen to him, but they had shrugged off your requests with sentences along the lines of "nightmares aren't something to worry about" and "Desmond is strong enough to know that a nightmare can hardly effect him". You weren't even going to repeat Shaun's answer about misjudging his skills on spotting bugs and viruses and such.

You were never one to put up with things that angered you, not matter what it was. A Master Assassin several-and-more ranks above you was no exception.

Slowly and almost unheard snores were coming from a figure beside you, and you turned slowly to see Jacob with his eyes closed and a calm expression on his face. You smiled a little. In this state, he looked far from worrying about any of his problems, in this state, in fact, he looked almost like an angel.
You chuckled, and ran your fingers through his dark, tousled hair. He stirred, but didn't wake completely. You placed a small kiss on the bridge of his nose, and turned to hop off the bed, but a strong force tugged at the back of your nightgown, throwing you back into the bed. You heard Jacob mutter something, before throwing an arm around your waist. It was a rough action physically, but emotionally it was something you loved about him.
"Stay a while longer..." you heard him mutter, nuzzling his he
