The yell echoed its way up the stairs of the small, eclectically decorated wooden house, rebounding off the single shut door at the end of a small landing. But while the tone was demanding, perhaps even a little exasperated as it wasn’t the first time the name had been called, there was no response.

The owner of the voice sounded as though their temper, which had been kept at bay for quite a while now, was finally getting the best of them. And when there was yet again no further response, the ignored shouts were replaced with footsteps.
