You May Say I'm An Artist...More Like This
I am haunted in this holiday season by the opening lines of Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities, his novel about a society 250 years ago coming apart in its seemingly irreconcilable divisions. Could it be these lines define where we have come to find ourselves today?
“It was the best of times,
it was the worst of times,
in the age of wisdom,
it was the age of foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief,
it was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light,
it was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of hope,

New Critique Folder (Details Inside)Welcome, dreamers!More Like This
Some of you may have noticed that I just added a new folder to our gallery, labeled "Critique". The other admins and I have decided to make this folder to help support the members in our group.
The first thing you all should know is that you may only submit 2 deviations to be critiqued per month. This is so we can ensure people are having enough time to get through what is already in there before more is added.
The second thing is that everyone is welcome to submit to the critique folder. All types of art are accepted. Make sure you check our guidelines before submitting new pieces, though, as mature pieces will still not be allowed in our group.
Lastly, while the other admins and I will try to help with critiques, but we do not want to be the sole critique team. Therefore, we ask that members help with this by commenting/ critiquing any pieces in the folder that may catch your eye. Remember, you are not obligated to critique, it's jus

Fears vs Dreams - Brief Check-UpIt's been over 6 months since the Self-Injury Awareness 2013 Fears vs Dreams journal was put up on deviantART, and I still find myself returning to this video from time to time, both for motivation and a sense of camaraderie for finding commonalities in my fears, and finding distinction in myself in that my dreams are vastly different from that of others.More Like This
So this has sparked a curiosity in me; and I'd like for us to go deeper into these questions:
What is your biggest fear?
How do your dreams prevent your fears from showing themselves?
What is your greatest dream?
How do your fears obstruct you from achieving your dreams?
Comments and answers highly appreciated, along with any 's or other sharing or support.

Two days ago, a local animal shelter's cat building suffered from a tremendous fire that completely destroyed the building, leaving 160 cats without a place to stay. 8 were lost in the fire (Daniel, Cassiopeia, Stuffin, Floopey, Pisces, Sadie, Sparkler, and Atlas), 3 in critical condition, and 4 are currently missing and being looked for. There's so much damage that the building is beyond saving and needs to be rebuilt, and the shelter staff is looking for anyone able to foster the cats while arrangements can be made-- but 160 cats are a lot to find foster homes for. They're currently looking for cat beds, litter, blankets, cat food, and any monetary donation that can help them right now (information on where/what to donate can be found
