-The Koketsu is actually a very large dog despite it's stalky appearance. I notice quite a few of you marking your dogs weight between 30 and 50 pounds. In the breed description the are more between the ranges of 80 to 130 pounds!
- Marbled eyes are an odd result of pigment displacement and is connected with the unique Sectional Brindling mutation in the breed. A Koketsu will not have marbled eyes unless it has the sectional brindling somewhere on it's body. Black based dogs can have marbled eyes however, because they can be carrying the markings without appearing to.
- The more white the dog has on it's tail, the more desirable it can be as a hunter. It's erect tail acts as flag of sorts so the hunter can spot the dog in tall grass, trees, and rocking terrain. However, in more snowy regions, the brighter colored Koketsu's are more desirable.
- A darker colored mask is common in the breed and is highly desired
