Percy and his parents. Something done as a height/general comparison. Nothing super fancy, but it was fun until I got annoyed with coloring.
So, I tried to summarize Percy's story sans spoilers (...uh, even if his mom is right there). I don't think I succeeded in making it a short summary and seriously don't expect anyone to read this rant, but hey. Here it is:
Percy Strecker is a shy, quiet, and submissive 10-year-old boy who resides in a fairly small town infamous for its swampy surroundings. The year is 1974 and Percy is struggling through his first year of junior high -- 5th grade. Percy isn't the most rich or attractive kid. He has the appearance of an albino and his body is covered in large mole-like lumps, which he always hides with long-sleeved shirts and pants. Because of his slightly off behavior and general bashfulness, Percy lacks a social life. Percy lives with his sitar-playing, cryptozoology-obsessed hippie of a father, Lenny, on the top level of a house right next to the swamp. The landlord lives on the bottom level, and Lenny isn't on the best of terms with him. Lenny often plays at gigs and occasionally on the street in an attempt to make ends meet. Lenny's laid-back attitude causes him to slack off a bit when it comes to certain things. He's late a lot -- specifically with the rent. Lacking a mother figure (Percy was told that his mother died in a car accident when he was a toddler), Percy has become closer to his father than anyone. In school, most people tend not to pay attention to Percy, except for three bullies who find amusement in Percy's suffering. Percy never fights back, knowing he'll probably get a worse beating. However, despite this, Percy finds solace and joy in being in the swamp behind the house.
...I tried to make it short. I tried.
