I love rain. I love the way it washes away sorrow and leaves your soul open for the sunlight.
This image reminds me of me because of the feeling of pain, of being hit with a constant barrage of garbage in my life that I don't need or deserve. You can avoid a lot of it, but sometimes it comes up and strikes you on the chin, reminding you to pay your dues.

Help us make a list!I'm sure that at some point, this happened to most of us: "wow polymer clay/air dry clay is great! but do they sell it in my country? where can I buy it?". So, how cool would it be if we made a list? Think about how many new artists we would be helping... if you had problems finding clay at the beginning, I'm sure that you were really grateful to that nice person that helped you find it. Also, in countries where clay is really hard to find, having a bigger demand would convince more stores to start stocking clay!
It's a WIN/WIN for all of us: you are giving something back to the community, and you are increasing your possibilities of making clay more readily available to you. Also, you get a cookie for being so awesome! Maybe you will even learn of a new store that is closer or cheaper!

We were all sad to see each other go but alas, the day must always come to an end. We hope to have more meet ups in the future and see more fellow SSS crew members. Maybe even, at some point a fan meet up too where you can come see us.

Plated DessertsPlating can be such an underrated art form at times. I've often heard it dismissed as 'boring', 'sterile' and criticised for all looking the same. Maybe we just have a tendency to lust after the rustic, messy desserts. Maybe we like to tear down what is seen as a hoity-toity way of presenting food. Or maybe we just don't see the skill and technique that goes into plating.More Like This
Skillful plating up of food requires a good eye, a steady hand and a flair for design. Careful consideration goes into everything from which way the dish is offset, to the type of garnishes on it, to the type of plate it is presented on. It, in turn, necessitates learning a whole host of other skills and techniques to create the garnishes that adorn the dish.
These deviants show off their plating skills with a host of delicious desserts.

The hardest part of any craft is getting the right tools. You've gotta learn the language of the trade, and that means getting yourself familiar with what's needed where. Culinary arts in particular can be so overwhelming. Most sugar craft books will tell you you need a long list of expensive equipment they'll use to make one type of adornment never to be used again. This can suck a lot of beginners in to spending a fortune on equipment that's not essential. And cake decorating equipment is exorbitantly expensive. I can go buy some lustre dust and a couple of cutters required for one type of flower and kiss $100 goodbye, so knowing when to spend and when not to spend can save you a lot of pain.

They can be cute, they can be intimidating. They can be colourful, or muted. They can appear fierce and strong, or swirl in delicate, graceful lines.
These muscular structures are best known as those attached jellyfish, but they're found in a massive array of invertebrates, some mammals & amphibians, and even in plants! We always associate them as having suckers, but some species come equipped with all sorts of interesting structures. Some tentacles have eyes at the end of them (snails) others have teeth (giant squid). Some can release venom (jellyfish) and others are lined with sharp swivelling hooks (colossal squid).
But where they are best known is the one place they are most often misnamed: the octopus. The 8 limbs on the octopus are actually arms, not tentacles. Tentacles are actually much longer than arms, and only have suckers on the very tips rather than scaling the whole length of them.
But tentacles jus

We all know Fella and dA wouldn't be the same without him anymore.
But did you ever wonder who he really is? Where does he come from? Why is he alone?
He is always at our side, lurking here and there, making your dA experience a little brighter and introducing you to new things all the time.
Your mission is to show us the world of Fella.
How does he live? Does he have pets? Is he the only one or are there other 'creatures' like him? Does he come from a distant planet? Is he the result of an experiment?
What does he eat? Or maybe he doesn't need to eat at all?
What is he doing in his freetime? Does he like to cook or read a good book? Or is he more of an adventurer, exploring the world outside?
Below you can see a few artworks, that already show Fella working for dA or in random situations. Maybe these inspire you to come up with other details of his life.

What are these dolls?
These dolls are called Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD). A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD, it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls. These are cast in polyurethane synthetic resin, a hard, dense plastic, and the parts strung together with a thick elastic. They are predominantly produced in Japan, South Korea and China. The BJD style has been described as both realistic and influenced by anime. They commonly range in size from about 60 centimetres (24 in) for the larger dolls, 40 cm (16 in) for the mini dolls, and all the way down to 10 cm (4 in) or so for the tiniest of the tiny BJDs. BJDs are primarily intended for adult collectors and customizers. They are made to b

Byzantium was the name given to the Eastern part of the Roman Empire. Known by many other names, such as Romania, it was born under the ruling of Diocletian when he divided the Roman Empire in two parts: Western and Eastern, in 286. It stretched roughly through the East of Italy, Greece and the Anatolian Peninsula – in some periods covering as far as the Northern coast of Africa and South Andalusia. It endured attacks from Barbarians, Sassanids, Persians, Arabs and Slavics until the famous falling of Constantinople in 1453.
Lasting some 1000 years more than its twin Western Roman Empire, Byzantium retained and developed the Greco Latin heritage with some aspects of its own , and always dreamt of restoring the original universality of the (whole) Roman Empire.

Art History: Greek TragedyWhat is "Tragedy"?More Like This
Tragedy is a genre most people are familiar with. Hamlet is a tragedy. Movies labelled as ‘tear jerkers’ are often tragedies. If you pare it down enough, it can be as simple as 'a story where a lot of bad things happen to the protagonist'. This would fit almost every tragedy ever written, but it's not very helpful for understanding the complexities of the genre, or what it contributes to storytelling. There are almost countless sub-genres of tragedy, and every one has specific rules and tendencies that further define it from 'tragedy' as a whole. This is a construct of ages of evolution in the genre, which started, alongside comedy, with the Greeks.
What is 'Greek' tragedy?

Omar Khayyam, (Lit: "Omar The Tentmaker), was born, (circa 1051), at Nishapur in Khorassan, (A region in N.W. Persia). Hieronymus Bosch was a Flemish painter who was born in 1450 and buried on August 9, 1516. His birth name was Jeroen Anthoniszoon van Aken, but he changed his last name to Bosch after the last syllable of this birthplace, ‘s Hertogenbosch. He came from a family of artists; his father, uncle, and grandfather were all painters. However, Hieronymus Bosch was much more than a mere Renaissance artist with an interesting background – he was a master of using a brush to spread paint across a canvas.
Over his lifetime, Bosch, who had many imitators, created only 25 to 30 paintings definitively, and signed merely seven of these. His patrons are unknown. However, King Philip II of Spain collected some of his best work, such as “The Garden of Earthly Delights.” This painting (above; second image is the inside) has many facet
