Geek Nail Art FeatureIt's May, so it's time for something great! May is all about Performance Arts on ArtHistoryProject, Performance Arts are one of those things that hit you like a shipwreck and leave your mind buzzing with inspiration. For this feature I chose two things that are very close to my heart: Nail Art, and Geek culture.
Note: If you love Performance Arts don't hesitate to write an article or feature, join the fun!
Nail art goes far beyond applying a nice shade of nail polish, it is a piece of art that you get to parade around and show to the world. People will always notice a nice piece of nail art and commend you for it. After a few days you get a fresh canvas a new chance to explore your creativity!
Nail art involves a lot of precision and planning to make the best out of a space as tiny as a nail. Some people have created complete masterpieces on this tiny canvas, use
WANTED: ALL BOOS AND GHOULS FROM FAIRYLANDAttention Citizens of Fairyland:More Like This
The King of Fairyland is maniacally seeking out his subjects, and no one in the Kingdom is to be spared. Clandestine meetings have been arranged between the Monarch and key figures throughout the realm. While no one knows for certain why the King is demanding all citizens report to His Majesty, rumor has it that Death has visited the Royal Family this cold, dark Halloween season. No one knows who was killed or in what fashion, but gossip has started to fly.
Are you a witch, wizard, ghoul, monster, or other citizen of Fairyland?
If so, the King would like to recruit YOU to help guide the Royal Detectives as they seek to solve the mystery surrounding the death in the Monarchy.
If you are a citizen and you would like to help give clues to the detectives (game players), simply note Halloween-HQ, tell us which magical creature you are (please be creative), and state that you would lik

What are these dolls?
These dolls are called Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD). A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD, it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls. These are cast in polyurethane synthetic resin, a hard, dense plastic, and the parts strung together with a thick elastic. They are predominantly produced in Japan, South Korea and China. The BJD style has been described as both realistic and influenced by anime. They commonly range in size from about 60 centimetres (24 in) for the larger dolls, 40 cm (16 in) for the mini dolls, and all the way down to 10 cm (4 in) or so for the tiniest of the tiny BJDs. BJDs are primarily intended for adult collectors and customizers. They are made to b

The majority of the hospitals we worked with distributed the cards themselves, either through their own volunteers or by placing cards on the food trays of patients. We received letters of thanks from some hospitals, and a few even shared our cards on their Facebook pages! One thing all of the hospitals and patients had in common: they loved your cards!

Working Without a Pattern
Hi everyone! I'm TheSmall-Stuff and what I love is to make amigurumi, but I'm never patient enough to use a pattern. Because of this, I've found and developed a bunch of techniques that I use while designing the dolls that I make! What I'm going to try to do is explain my thought process in making a doll, and share some of the techniques that I use to form the shapes and the details in a character. Sorry it's long, but I tried to use lots of pictures. I hope this helps! Lets start
Shapes are key!
When you go to make a doll, you need to pick it apart in your head and see all of the shapes that make the character. Sometimes it's easier to draw out a diagram of all of the pieces that go into the doll, to get a good idea of how it fits together. While you're planning, it's good to be thinking "How do I make this?" while you choose shapes. However

Creator of some of the most bizarre and frightening artwork in the history of art, scholars have long debated who exactly Hieronymus Bosch was and what was the meaning and purpose of his “over the top” grotesqueries (c. 1450—1500). His most famous work is the triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights. Panel One depicts Adam & Eve in Paradise. Panel Two depicts the earthly delights: nude bodies, exotic birds, bowls of fruit. Panel Three depicts Hell’s punishments for partaking of the delights. Centuries later, scholars debated whether he was a radical religious heretic or a satir

I will be taking a smaller number of ponies (50 in total) for this round of commissions. These will all be completed and delivered before Xmas so if you would like to get a gift for someone, now is the time to order. I will be taking another round of commissions (I usually work on around 100 ponies per commission round) at the beginning of January, so if you're just looking to get something for your own collection maybe consider waiting until then to give other people a chance to get gift ponies.
To those of you who still have commissions with me, they will be completed before this batch of commissions is started. To those of you who helped out for the donation drive, yours will be started with this new batch of commissions, but completed first.

This commission batch is for all regular ponies and fillies, canon or OC. Alicorn OC's not available at this time.
If you would like an alicorn oc using the regular pony base that's fine and is priced the same as unicorns/pegasi/earth ponies.
There will be 25 spots open - You may order up to 6 ponies and 2 princesses (cadence, chrysalis, luna) at a time. There is no limit for fillies.
HOW TO ORDER:
When commissions open, send me a note of what you would like as well as your paypal address and country you reside in (for shipping purposes). I will be sending out invoices that have to be paid within 24 hours for your commission to be locked in. Hopefully this will solve the whole currency conversion kurfuffle as well as keep things a little more organized on my side.

Happy Chinese New Year since that one is closer?????
I'm almost done with the commissions from October and the majority of them should be mailed out by the end of the month. A few of the more complex OC's will be completed and mailed out the first week of February. Please let me know if there's been any changes to your mailing address. If you have ordered Queen Chrysalis or a princess from me those will be finished the second week of February. OK
I am going to take a large batch of commissions again the first week of March, (I will post exact time closer to the date) and then during the summer months I'll be taking small batches of OC's, and then another large batch around September which will be finished for Christmas delivery. So there's a vague schedule for those of you who are wondering. Lets hope I can stick to it.
OK BYE AGAIN

COMMISSIONS OPENing next weekHello!More Like This
Something has come up so Chrysalis/Alicorn commissions will be opening on the 15th. Unfortunately due to my workload from the previous commission batch I will not be taking Alicon OC's this round but definitely will next time.
Also there seems to be some confusion- by "Alicorn" I mean the body type, not just Alicorns in general. If your OC is an Alicorn and has a pony type body you may order that when pony commissions open.

Artists Beware + A Chargeback FraudHello Lovely people,More Like This
Today, I stumbled upon several journals by members who all got scammed by one person. Pixlett / ToxicMutagen (who deactivated their accounts today) scammed more than 3,000 USD from more than 20 artists by filling chargebacks just after a while from paying for adopts or commissions. And apparently, they can do the same with points too.

I can't really do anything but to share this with you in hope you won't get scammed by this person.
Here are some journals written about this issue:
And your points aren't safe:
This is a great journal on how to prevent these chargebacks. Check it out:
Feel free to spread this around.
