Here she is, everyone's favorite dog: Blue Puppy!
Yeah, I decided to update Blue's design. Not that there was anything wrong with my Project Anthro thing I did, like, last year or so.
Ok, this is the part where I talk about the character, their likes, their dislikes and so on. But here's the thing; I admit it, I don't know enough of Blue's character to write a solid bio of her. So, instead of doing that, if I do a picture on a character that isn't mine (by it from a tv show, movie, game or from another artist) I'll just talk about my opinion on them.
And where do I start with Blue?
Well, I've been a fan of Blue ever since I was a baby. And in other news; fish can breath underwater.
But what I always liked about Blue, besides her adorableness, is the fact that she's the kind of pers--dog who is the perfect kind of teacher. Instead of just barking at Steve and Joe and saying "I want a cup of milk with my snack" or "Bring a phone to college" or anything, Blue gave Steve and Joe clues so they could find things out themselves.
And I know a lot of you are probably saying "I always thought Blue left clues because Steve and Joe couldn't understand her".
In the prequel episode "Blue's First Holiday" the problem was that Joe, as a baby, lost his blanket and no one knew where it was except Blue. And the reason Blue left clues leading to where it was, which was a snowman by the by, wasn't because Blue couldn't speak English. It was because Blue didn't know what a snowman was and was having a hard time describing it. I can only imagine what Blue's barks would of translated to in that scene.
"You know, it's outside! With the thing!...Made of Snow....and had a face?..."
And that's something a lot of people have been giving me slack for; keeping Blue's voice from Blue's Room. People believe that was the main reason why Blue's Room sucked.
Wow, can you be more wrong?
Look, folks: if Blue's Room and the very first Tom and Jerry Movie have anything in common, it's the fact that the characters being able to talk was the least of their problems
The Tom and Jerry movie sucked because of its horrible musical numbers, dumb characters, that little brat who pretty much stole the spotlight and the fact that it's based on Tom and Jerry being friends; the exact opposite of why they're some of the biggest characters in history.
Blue's Room sucked for many a reason.
My old friend
once said that she hated if because it erased basically everything in the Blue's Clues world for the sake of a stupid puppet show and that it has nothing to do with the actual show so why bother?
I personally hate it because they took a show that taught kids how to learn by figuring things out on their own and turned into a show that looks like Barney + the Muppets' least favoring features.
The fact that Blue talked was probably the best thing about the series.
The last thing I need to say is, well, Blue's form, obviously. You can see that she is on all fours in one half of the picture and standing like a person on the other?
"Which pose will she use for the show?"
Blue, be her on the cartoon show or that puppet show, did switch from walking to all fours to sometimes standing on 2 and even walked a little. She just did it a lot less on the cartoon. Almost never. She's gonna do it on Without A Clue almost as often as characters like Brian Griffin or Scooby Doo.
Wow, a conversation about
, Scooby Doo and Blue's Clues all in the same time and I didn't even mention her awesome crossover fan fic, which you should totally see.
All I have left to say is that Blue is not going to change that much for this series. Blue was awesome on her old show. She didn't need anything to be changed. Making her an adult and giving her 2 pups to call her own isn't gonna change jack. None of the Blue's Clues characters you saw on the show are gonna when being on this show.
