The kids like giving little gifts to their friends/teachers and usually ask if I'll do a cake. I really don't mind, but it can get a bit overwhelming at busy times, so I bought some 4 inch tins. Now they can give something special, but will take me hours rather than days :)

This is a cake I made for a client. It was a very interesting, and long process to get the finished design and I learned a whole new level of patience :crazy

My cousin wanted a Harry Potter themed cake for her birthday, and this... kind... of... just... happened.

We had a vanilla sponge cake; a whole bunch of cupcakes inspired by various treats in the HP world (butterbeer; chocolate frog; pumpkin pasty; sherbet lemon; and candy floss); berty bots every flavour beans (cheap beans and home made boxes); twizzlers and red vines (because AVPM); sugar mice; and 'bloodsickle pops' (cherry lolly pops).

I also made the Hogwarts House mascots out of fondant, but they didn't fit on the cake and so were shuffled down to the tier below. :3

Everyone really loved how it looked and everything tasted brillaint. Everything (bar the jelly beans and I think the twizzlers) was vegan.

I think this was one of my favourite cakes to date. It was so much fun to put together.

This was for my daughter Daniellas 15th Birthday on the 15th of April. I'm getting to enjoy making square mathematical cakes more now I've gone through all what can go wrong in the process
This is made of 2, 8inch square sponges.....one vanilla and one chocolate. I rolled out as much blue for the house as I had space for a day earlier giving it plenty of time to harden enough to cut to size, but not too much so I could score in the surface detail.

The front roof is supported by wooden skewers hidden by thinly cut pieces of dried fondant.

I hid a little gift in the roof before sticking the tiles down with royal icing. :icongiftplz:

This was for my daughter Rebacca's 16th last week.......time goes by so quick :sniff: She still loves Hello Kitty though, so while she does, I thought I'd make the most of it :kitty:
The theme is prom as she has hers in July to end the months of studying for her exams.....she's so looking forward to it as she is working really hard.

The cake is made up of 2 vanilla sponges, a strawberry sponge, and a marble of both. To give an idea of the size, the bottom layer is a 10 inch. I found some nifty edible gems on-line made of jelly. They look really effective, but for future reference, needed to be put on last as they melt a bit.

would you please let me know before you do so.....Thankyou..

This here is a two tier draped cake I made for my grandmother, who turned 80, so for this extra special lady I thought I would make her an extra special cake.
All the roses, leaves and small flowers are hand made from sugar paste.
The bottom cake is a classic fruit cake (who could go wrong) and the top is a basic chocolate cake, both covered with fondant icing.

A soft and fluffy subtly ginger gluten free cupcake with a smooth milk chocolate butter cream, topped with ginger and cinnamon star sugar cookies.

These cupcakes were so good! I have never used ginger in baking before but so glad I have started now! All I did was add 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground ginger to the cupcake mix and 1/2 teaspoon to the sugar cookie mix.  I finished off the cookies with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Holding my own Christmas Contest sure has got me into the spirit of Christmas Baking this year. To find out more about my contest, check out the following journal post.

Claremanson's Christmas ContestTheme: General Christmas Baking
From holding a recent poll, it seems the majority of you are most interested in baking traditional food for your country/family or food you usually bake over Christmas rather than a set recipe.  Therefore I have decided that as long as it is relevant to Christmas in some way, shape or form in recipe, flavour or presentation it will be considered as an entry.

Rules and requirements:

You must include Christmas into your baking, decorating or surroundings in some shape or form else your entry will not be included.
If what you you usually make isn't very Christmasy looking or tasting then why not try to add some more Christmas into your food by adding Christmas sprinkles onto candy and cupcakes, flavours such as cinnamon or cranberry, themed cupcake cases, festive shaped cookies etc.
You entry must be new for Christmas 2013.
It must be homemade, not shop bought.
Please state in your e

My family and I are huge Despicable Me fans so some Minion baking just had to be done.

Some gluten free biscuits, covered in yellow icing, white chocolate buttons and black writing icing.

This was so much fun to make and the family loved them.

Sorry I forgot about the Zinc and have now included it in the title!!! There is actually black pepper on the plate but in the pepper mill there are ONLY broken up selenium and zinc tablets which should make very short work of any mercury (Hg) that happens to be in the fish on this plate.  It is very finely ground when you operate the mill and spread evenly over the fish.  One less problem and threat to worry about!!!

I believe that this is the most useful, and I hope helpful, deviation out of the 3445 deviations that I have uploaded so far on to DA.

Oh yeah, it lights up :3

The pink sections are all glow in the dark, so the light inside will charge them so it will glow for a short time after it's turned off. I'm fairly certain I have a black light around here, I'll try to get a picture that way.

I have three cube sizes available, with the smallest being a $5 puzzle cube. They are all available here - www.etsy.com/shop/GoodGollySir

This big one will only be done as a custom order, so different colors are also available!

Okay, so this most probably isn't an original idea at all, but I don't care. I'm being a romantic little shit and that terrifies me. Also, this cookie decorating business is really difficult. They're vanilla sugar cookies, and I finished making them at about 2:30 this morning.

But yes... This is how you win a guy’s heart, right?

Another late update. I made this cake for a raffle my aunt was having at school. I hear one of my favourite teachers there won it, which is cool.

The inside is chocolate cake, and the lights were made with a little mold I got in a magazine.
