I made this 16th century German dress inspired by period artwork. I already had all the fabrics but not very much of each, so the piecing was perfect! This dress is mine, and I love being a walking checkerboard!

This Pink Ball Gown is for Traci Hines "Part of Your World" Music Video. [link]. For the pink gown Traci stressed that she wanted it to look more like a period gown, so I pulled from all my favorite era’s of fashion. I designed the corset from the Edwardian era, with a pigeon chest and a small waist. The sleeves are slash and puff sleeves from the Renaissance and Tudor period. The skirt is more of the Rococo era with hip panniers and a bustled back. Traci chose her favorite fabric and trims to make it all happen! I wanted to make sure that this costume didn’t look like a “cosplay” costume. If you remember the scene where she gets the gown, she did not have someone make it for her, they most likely had it in one of the royal closets so she could borrow it. "TracPerhaps it was one of Eric’s Mother’s dresses? Instead of using pure whites, I used antique colors like champagne to replace the whites.
Making the dress was truly magical! It came together in two days! I had the help of Katie Mitchell dying trims, finishing hems, and cutting fabric for me. Traci was on details, sewing pearls and gluing rhinestones. Even our director Raiya was making trips to the fabric district to pick up notions to finish the gown! We were like the little mice in Cinderella, working to make a princess gown! After it came together we were all relieved to see that it had turned out beautifully. (we were shooting it the next day).

O.O A DD!! oh my glob!! Thank you so much!!! *throws glitter in the air*

We created a Firefly Path version of the Fairy Queen Titania from "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
Garlands of peach and cream roses with guilded leaves pull back to reveal the rose & vine embellished underskirt. The larger roses gather at the bottom then become smaller towards the top. The standing collar is embellished with roses and gold embroidered lace. The resin wings have LEDs embedded within them.

It's been a while since I post something. I tried to have a break during christmas.
I did this little "peau d'ane" thing this morning. I wanted to draw these 3 dresses for ages!
A dress "couleur du temps" (weather color), couleur de lune (moon color) and couleur du soleil (sun color)

I don't know if this movie was translated into english, but I used to watch it again and again when I was younger.

:: FR ::

Our customer Emily Turnbull commissioned us to make a Belle gown in the style that face characters wear at the Disney Parks. Her corset features a motif of roses and a damask pattern. The shoulder shawl has three fabric rosettes with crystal centers arranged in the silhouette of Mickey Mouse's head. These hand made rosettes also hold the swag on the skirt. Her skirt is a series of six different layers of silk-velvet, brocade, crystal cream organza, sequin netting, yellow crystal organza, and yellow rose brocade.

We were blessed with a beautiful weather, with the right lighting to avoid flash

We took the pictures at my friend Luigi's bookstore AcquaAlta...you might have seen it on BBC's culture column as one of the 10 most beautiful bookshops in the world:heart: www.bbc.com/culture/story/2014… since I was there during all the setup process of the book staircase and walls I'm exceptionally happy about this mention:heart::heart: the owner, Luigi, is a friend of the Carnival and has been a dear friend for the last 10 years or so  i got your heart
So well...there was no better place to take some Belle shots than Luigi's shop:book-bounce:
This is my Once Upon a Time's Belle dress, if you are wondering about the design :)
There is an hidden reference to one of the Belle-centric episode (if you can call them like that...let's say, an episode with a bit more Belle than normal xD) in the picture, if you spot it let me know grin wink

A customer requested a Firefly Path Original Mother Earth Inspired Gown and Headdress. The color pallet she requested is all in rich autumn tones and textured fabrics. Her skirt is layers of crinkle taffeta, organic pin-tucked chiffon, burnt organza, then the top layer is cut out embroidered lace. We cut and applied the lace to look as though it was growing up the sides of her dress and across the chest. To mimic Shelf Mushrooms that grow in tree bark we added layers of stacked fabric on the shoulder seam and right hip. Tiny green and blue flowers sprout throughout the vine lace.
Her headdress is faux deer antlers surrounded by moss and ferns. Tiny flowers light up like fairy lights around her head.

Our customer commissioned us for a version of our Moth Fairy but in a sea-foam color pallet and without wings. In this version we added layers of light blue, and sea foam green organza and tulle make the airy skirt. The tattered bodice features silver vines "growing" across it. Flowers hold green pearls in their centers. We kept her necklace in the same organic vine style that sprawls across her shoulders. The sleeves are separated from bodice. They look like splashes of water with green pearls at the tips.

This Firefly Path original gown was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The rosy color palette is a combination of maroon brocade, pink rosette trim, peachy pink faux dupioni silk, and striped organza. The skirt is made up of two skirts; The underskirt and a over bustle that she can choose to style in different ways. Both the front and back bustle are on a separate waistband. She can choose to wear it with only the back bustle or snap on the front. She also can gather the bustle in the back with sewn in hooks. To tie in the Alice in Wonderland theme we make her a matching top. Firefly Path Seamstress Jes Reaves ( Geeklore) designed a teapot necklace for the finishing touch!

Gift for my friend :iconorpheelin:, because I've realized this week that I've never taken the time to make a really finished piece for her. Strange since I'm a great fan of her characters O_o Always little sketches, and I was never satisfied.. for once I'm quite happy even if I had to start again and again. This one was really challenging! I hate backlights, I don't know with I've been so horrible with myself XD

Sketch of Vivien Leigh (aka Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind).

Not incredibly realistic, a rather caricatured portrait of her, but it was really just to loosen the old hand up.

Rohlala !

******
I must to finish my comic, but sometimes I want to do something else ! This is an fanart from one of my favourite movie Gone with the wind. I try to do something more realistic than what I do as usual. I try to draw Vivien Leigh's eyes but I don't known if it's well done. So, I go to finish my comic !!

All these clothes were handmade, most of them based on a pattern but everytime altered in some sort of way (because I didn't like the sleeves, wanted the skirt to be more flowy, blahblah,...)
Really typical, why make it easy if you can also do it the hard way :D

It was my first attempt at making something Victorian looking with quite little resources, and my goal is ofcourse to eventually make some kind of bustle skirt with an overflow of details as they always were in the eighties :D
But that's probably still going to take a while before I get the right pattern (and then hopefully understand what it is you have to do, as I'm not that experienced yet), fabrics and time.
But oh well, we'll see, some day ^^

I made this jacket a while ago (again for a fair) with the help of my great mom because I was afraid to mess it up and I really wanted it to look good and (quite)nicely finished :D

Some people might recognize the Truly Victorian pattern I used in it, originally with huuuuge leg of mutton sleeves but since I don't like those and I didn't have time to find an alternative (and I'm not particularly good at pattern drawing) I just went with sleeveless for now :D
But I'll probably try to get some basic sleeves on them anyway since I'm planning on making it again in a gorgeous white brocade fabric I have been dying to use for like ages
