Photoshop CS6. If you see a lot of dithering, I apologize. Most of the time some noise can get rid of it, but it didn't work here.

I was blown away by Interstellar and the beautiful way space was rendered! You must see this in IMAX or a large theater for yourself!

You're more than beautiful, you're more than words could ever say.
Cause you're a miracle, emotions in flames.
You're more than wonderful, the stars are lighting high above.
Who can be cynical, when you're in the world.

I haven't done anything digitally for quite a while ... so i sat down for a couple of hours and did this. I am actually really pleased with how it turned out!! I picked the ref because of the colours and I think I really did it justice and added my own touch :)
I could blend this in and try to make it look super realistic but i think it will look better like this what do you think?
Aw man I just realized this makes it 3 unfinished painting im working on ... dammit !
The ref is of Adriana Lima
Any crits or comments would be great

A wonderful photographer Noya Saraf allowed me to use one of their images to work from. Please check out their gallery here on Deviant. I struggled with what I wanted to do with the image and then decided to paint it as is. Every face contains a million secrets.

The problem is that at some point, we start feeling like we’re alone although they are still right there. We don’t move so cautiously anymore, and we feel comfortable even though we’re being watched.
And that is good.
But what we should always remember is that they are still worth being respected, and that we should never ever direct our self-hatred, even if only temporarily, at them.

I am really looking forward to the deer rut this year, am I ever! This big Mule deer buck was photographed during last years rut at Rocky Mountain Arsenal national Wildlife Refuge in Denver, Colorado. To get the shot I used a Minolta 70-210 f4 "Beercan" lens on a Sony A65. Photographed just before sunrise, the color of which reflects against the sky in the background, made for some nice atmosphere and a nice contrast against him. He was on big fellow and very statuesque as I photographed him, standing his ground & not taking an eye of me.

Fall is on the cusp here in Colorado and as a photographer, it's my busiest time of the year. It seems everyone is excited and is posting their fall images from years past. I love this time of the year...it's so gorgeous here. In this image, fog lifts off a lake as the sunlight reflects against the trees just after sunrise. To get the image, I used a Sigma 170-500mm lens on my Sony A550 backed up by a Puffin Pad to get the shot. Why such a long lens? Well, let me explain....One of the things I love to do is called "compression landscapes". It's taking a very long lens which is usually reserved for wildlife photography and getting in close to study the landscape which the naked eye otherwise wouldn't see. I love photographing this way and panning around seeing what I can find and working out a composition which I otherwise would miss. I am really looking forward to Autumn this year however it will be sort of bitter sweet.

For the last several years I have held meetups each and every Autumn in Rocky Mountain National Park. We've had some great times, met a whole lot of great people along the way if I do it this year, which will be very last minute if I do, it will be my last. Next year I plan on holding actual workshops and teaching people the art of photography. In the planning stages now, I am very excited by its prospects but also I will sadly miss doing things very informal. It's truly a huge undertaking and involves a lot of planning and forethought but is a huge step forward for me as working photographer. As it stand snow, I will be holding 2 weekend workshops concentrating on general nature photography and travelscape photography during autumn in Colorado next year. It's slowly coming together though and if you';re interested, stay tuned in the coming months for much more information.

The Eta Aquarids Meteor shower is considered to be one of the best meteor showers for Southern Hemisphere viewers. Last year during the peak I witnessed many great meteors and I was keen to see if this years show would be just as good. I set up a camera to run from moonset until dawn and then settled in to enjoy the show. There was certainly a lot less activity this year compared to last years shower. Over the course of the six hour timelapse I only managed to capture 7 on camera and some of them are not even true Eta Aquarids as they did not come from the direction of the radiant. I decided to compile all the strikes into a single image. Only one was bright enough to leave a little bit of a train (upper right of middle). The green and orange colour in the sky is from airglow. It is rather hipnotic to watch the airglow change colour and move through the sky over the course of the night in the timelapse which I might get around to posting one day.

Canon 5D MkII, 14mm, F/2.8, ISO 3200, 1 single 30 second exposure for the background image with one of the meteor strikes and then the other meteor strikes pasted on top. I didn't bother rotating the meteor strikes to compensate for the rotation of the sky over the course of the night.

Ink on Board (ballpoint/biro, dip-pen, marker, sharpies and a variety of drawing pens.) A2 size. I fancied getting back into black and white ink work and a friend has a new band so I thought I'd do some artwork for that. There was no plan and no limits... he wanted something "dark" and this is what he got...
