Will You Become a Bigot?Discrimination, Prejudice, Bigotry...More Like This
We act as if these thing will end soon; these unfortunate products of the human condition
That is not the case...
Hate is always present, and while hate for certain groups is declining
Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Ethnic and Religious minorities...
A new wave of change is coming and a new era of hate will follow
Perhaps you, oh so tolerant and open minded one, will be a champion of the new hate
Or maybe those who are just now seeking equality, will you stick to your principles?
How will you react when the first clone is born?
How will you treat the first Genetically Modified Humans?
What of the first artificial person?
Someone who's DNA was written in a lab, and has no "parent"?
Will you accept them?
Or will you hate them?
Will you try to understand them?
Or will you fall into the same cycle of bigotry the last generation fell into?
Will you be the Civil Rights Activist turned Homophobe?
Or will you stick to your principles of Liberty and Justice
Emanon's Gun Politics - Email QuestionsEmanon Gun Politics - Email QuestionsMore Like This
I have gotten several emails about my view on guns, while I have written quite extensively about my view on guns, some of these people asked specific questions that I will now answer. I will also be writing a bit more about my interest with guns, as I did in a previous piece but expanding on it…
Understand, most of my especially more left leaning friends do not agree with my views on guns – since most of my followers do tend to be more left leaning I do not expect some of you to agree with me either. That’s fine everyone is entitled to their own view. I may be answering further questions in the comment section as long as it is an actual question.
I will be quoting or paraphrasing some of my other pieces that I have written on guns and will be linking them all in the Artist Comment Section below. Okay, here goes, the questions. Note, I have a habit of extrapolating my answers, so my answers can be a simple yes or no… but
Emanon and WeaponsMore Like This
A conservative who happened along my "gun loving liberal" pieces asked me what got me into weapons since "most liberals want everyone's guns taken away because they believe that this will create a safe world" I will touch on that a bit later but I must say that I never really gave much thought to it if I can be honest; he also asked me some questions which I will post throughout this and answer them
Here are the pieces that he read:
Liberals and Gun Ownership
Gun Loving Liberal
There are many a reasons why I have always been a fan of guns. One, as I spoke of in the pieces linked above, I do not think it is a matter of liking guns, or disliking guns. I think it is a matter of personal experience with guns, and others having no experience with them.
If you were brought up in an area where guns were either not allowed your family never
Political Journal: Anti-Bullying BulliesWARNING: Political opinions and positions lie herein! I'm just hoping to stimulate conversations if I can though.More Like This
I do not honestly begin this with the intention of telling people what to think or state emphatically that my positions are unassailable. All I want to do is make mention of my understanding and support that with evidence.
If I veer from the rails correct me and I'll attempt to readjust.
If you dispute any points too, PLEASE state them below!
I want to talk about it.
Just to make it clear though, some of these positions will be objective.
Dan Savage (the man who shares the unfortunate distinction of being the chief editor of a local Seattle publication called The Stranger) recently gave a speech at a high school as part of his anti-gay-bullying series It Gets Better. In addition to encouraging homosexuals on their lifestyles he made a point of calling out what he saw as Christian hypocrisy...or to put it in his own words 'Bullshit'.
To paraphrase, he brought up the point th
Is Tolerance Tolerant? Its possible, I hope at least, to have a discussion with point and counter point without the need to become enemies.More Like This
How many times has someone silenced you with a simple offhanded reiteration of 'That wasn't very tolerant'?
Strange how tolerance sometimes becomes the byword of intolerance: namely censoring opposing positions without any due consideration.
Now not everyone uses 'tolerance' in this way. We all grew up learning tolerance was a good thing and that people should be accepted just the way they are. Its a good thing, definitionally, that you seek to act in a moral and friendly fashion and encourage that behavior in others by calling their attention to speaking out in anger or being unjust to others.
'Everyone is entitled to their opinions' is taken at face value as undeniable fact, yes? Of course. We're all well bred people who wouldn't dream of imposing ourselves on others.
Or would we?
This 'tolerance' and 'equality of opinion' stops dead in the mind of many for people w
The Climate Denialist Plea for InactionMore Like This
As they tend to do from time to time in an effort to distract from the climate science consensus, a group of scientists who are also climate "skeptics" have published an opinion-editorial (op-ed), trying to make the case against taking action to address climate change. As usual, the article is little more than a regurgitation of a number of climate myths we have debunked at Skeptical Science.
The signatories of this newest letter are also worth noting for their lack of noteworthiness. Although the climate denialist blogs have labeled them "luminaries" and "

Reduced to AshesA Phoenix to Arise
If something burns your soul with purpose and desire, it’s your duty to be reduced to ashes by it.
Today, Lady Gaga’s throne as a reigning pop diva is a 24 carat gold wheelchair, emergency hip surgery forcing the cancellation of her latest tour – a betrayal more devastating for her than for the typical performer, given her relationship with her fans. Her body has finally broken in sacrifice to the needs of her monsters for constant contact and reassurance. The question now is
