Q: How did you get into cosplay and cosplay photography?
Lisa: I first discovered cosplay when I just started getting into anime in high school and came across it online. I was fascinated and would spend hours on Cosplay.com and deviantArt just looking up cosplays of all my favourite characters. 2008 saw my first official cosplay. I attended my first Manifest that year, cosplaying the 3rd Exorcist uniform version of Lavi from D.Gray Man. It was such a failure of a first cosplay; I didn't even have a wig on back then.
I didn't start getting serious about this photography hobby until late 2010. When my friends and I first started cosplaying, we didn't know anyone in the community really, and had only just started attending meets—late starters we were—so it became a habit of ours to just do shoots for each other. Carciphona volume 1 sold out not long ago, and I’ve finally restocked those this week!Shipping prices lowered as promised in the past month!
I’ve been working on figuring out a new shipping company last month, and I am ready (I think LOL MAYBE) to switch over! Shipping has always been the bane of my shop because I’m in Canada. I’ve got tons of questions about it in the past year that range from confused to outraged. But it’s in my best interest to find ways to lower shipping prices, because while some people are in such disbelief that Canadian shipping can be that bad (it can) might even think that I bloat shipping prices to make more money, high shipping costs actually makes me lose business because SURPRISE, no one wants to buy overpriced things.
The new company ships through USPS which means I can lower shipping prices to USA by as much as 70%

(CLOSED) AUCTION - Sketch ''Shy Kitty''Here's the third pencil sketch auction. If you missed the previous ones, the idea here is that I'm selling original physical copies of some of the pencil sketches I did earlier this year. This time it's a sexy catgirl in bed. See below for details on the item, links to samples, and instructions on how to bid! This auction is open for roughly 6 days, ending on 25th.More Like This
BONUS FOR PARTICIPATING:
Everyone who bids on a sketch auction during December will participate in a raffle I'll hold at the end of the year. The randomly-drawn winner of the raffle will receive at least two items, which can be either original sketches/doodles or leftover prints (probably one of each!). Your bid doesn't need to win an auction in order to participate in the raffle! Bidding in each auction earns you an additional raffle ticket (but only one per auction item!). So go ahead, up that bid. Even if you don't win the auction, you might win the raffle.

(CLOSED) - AUCTION - ''Beach Pranks FTW''So, I figured it's a shame having the pencil works I did earlier this year just gathering dust (well, not literally, since they're still in the sketchbook, but I'm sure you get the idea), so I figured I'd sell off some of them. For how much? I dunno! You tell me! So, let's try an auction! I'll start off with the older ones and if this goes well, then I'll move on to the newer ones! I'll probably post some promotions and reminders about these auctions again, so bear with this campaign bombing your updates every now and then.More Like This

Here are some news about...Pretty much everything
My 2014 fall is pretty cool as I've tons of things to do and projects that makes me very happy ♥
As you can see I've a new set on Zivity, called "The Chaman Kid", shot by the wonderful River.
I'm also happy that my first 100% independant set is available! I modeled, shot and edit it!
I'm happy with its success and consider shooting more like this one. Suggestions are welcome!
As for cosplay, I'm happy I started my 100 themes challenge and can't wait to do more!
I also spent some time drawing and can't wait to show you what I'm currently working on!
And yeah, I took some photos at the Zombie Walk in Paris too. You
My con season isn't over yet O_O. I needs Money. Well Luis got us two tables. One at Sac Con in December. And at The Lodi Grape Con in Feburary.More Like This
What sucks is that both Luis and I are struggling as far as cash is concerned. I got some projects I'm working on and would like them to get colored. Luis is in super cheap mode so he doesn't want to shell out a lot of money for color work. Granted I could just let him color my projects .Its just he is not consistent or as good as the other people with commission for color work. Still he is an option.
I am opening up my buy 2 get 1 free sketch and commission drive. It would really help me out if you guys and gals would take advantage of this. Here is recap of of the prices and options. If you are a regular customer or have commissioned me before the price increase.I will only charge you the previous prices.

Is it Me? Or is Deviantart Dying?I was chatting to some art/writing friends online, and it seemed to be something we agreed upon.More Like This
Deviantart seems kinda dead, or like it's dying or something. Or is that just for me ( and the people I've spoken to?). Honestly, I think a lot of the changes they made are responsible.
Disclaimer (because I always need one for some reason). This is my journal. It is my opinion. If you have a different opinion I'd love to hear it. I'm not out to offend anyone (kind of sadly hilarious I have to post these more and more lol ).
I've been here a long time. Well, I suppose I wasn't active for many years. I lived in Japan and Deviantart has no presence there. But then 3.5 years ago I decided to teach myself to paint, so I suddenly became active.
I think a lot of the recent Site Updates to Deviantart have really made things hard for those of us who are serious about artwork ( or maybe everyone?). Usually, it was fairly standard that when you post a new

Q: How did you get into cosplay photography?
Neil: Kind of by accident. I first attended Manifest in its second year, in 2001. I took along my brand new video camera, not knowing really what to expect but being dimly aware that there might be people dressed up. Two things were quickly obvious to me: cosplay and cosplayers were awesome, and I'd need a better camera. It wasn't till 2004 that I could shoot cosplay with my first DSLR that I became completely hooked.
Q: How have cosplay meets and conventions changed since 2001?
Neil: They have changed so much! Mostly to get much much bigger and much more involved. I commented to Hayden at MelCosPho 13 that there were more people there than at the first Manifest. Back then, t
10 ways to get inspiredDear, deviantart fellow artistsMore Like This
Inspiration is such an important subject for every artist. When we have it - we feel amazing and full of creative energy, but when we lack it, we tend to be anxious and procrastinate on things we really like to do.
So here are some of my thoughts about the topic and I hope that they might be helpful.
1. Go outside
We tend to spend way too much time indoors. Try to do some plein-air painting/drawing. Explore the world around you - It's not only good for your health, but It's also a great way to get inspired by nature, people in streets, clouds and sunsets etc.
2. Gather pictures in inspiration folder
If you see some amazing art, photography - save it on your computer. Or fave it in dA, or collect in your tumblr/pinterest board. Look at that folder every once in a while. If you see some really advanced and cool art

How to become better at art? How to gain necessary skill and how to stay motivated and inspired?
There are no right, or wrong answers to these questions, as we all are different and we have our own creative journeys - but here are some of my thoughts about the topic and I hope that they might be helpful.
1. Make art with your heart
Make the art that you enjoy to create. Make what resonates with you, put your heart in it (not literally) and it will show through your artworks.
2. Be consistent
Commit to yourself. Do something daily, even if it's just a sketch. Perhaps, do a study every morning or make speedpaintings. You may not see the progress at first, but you shouldn't get discouraged by that. Not every single one of your artworks has to be a masterpiece and it's totally okay to have a bad drawing every once
