New challenge! Get epic and win points! So here's a new challenge to keep you from getting bored this summerMore Like This
A face variety challenge! (click the image to see the full challenge)
It's simple; fill the meme with 30 faces before the end of august and you're automatically in for the challenge.
Read the description under the blank meme. It contains tips, tricks and tutorials to get you started. Your style doesn't matter. Realism, cartoons, anime... it's all fine. It doesn't matter if you use digital or traditional art. It doesn't matter if you use lines, shading or color. Everything is fine as long as you have 30 different faces when you complete the meme, and you've learned a thing or two from it.
Don't forget to tag me (or the blank meme) when you're done, so it appears in my inbox and I know you're in.
Among the participants 3x 300 will be given away.
Guardians Through Time Contest!Thank you all for the suggestions that you gave me! I decided to go with OKami-hu's idea: Guardian's Through Time!More Like This
The contest will be split into two parts: Fanart and Fanfiction. Cosplay and Crafts are also allowed and will fall under the Fanart section if anyone chooses to participate with those. Each section will have two winners, a first and a second place, so altogether there will be four winners. If we get enough entries then we'll switch it to three winners for each section, like we usually do.
Show us the Guardians through time! We know that Jack Frost didn't always use to wear that hoodie, what other outfits could he have worn through different periods of time? So think outfits! And also where might they be during that time period? Any historical events they might have been at? Any of the Guardians are up for grabs, as well as Pitch! Please try to mention which time period you're focusing on in your description, this includes future time peri
How to get better at ArtTake your timeMore Like This
That's all I really wanted to say. I could launch myself into a book-long explanation of all the things to do to get better, of what to read and what to watch and what to look for, all the "how to's" and "do this"...but in the end there is one thing I've noticed that seems to get overlooked: people aren't taking their time. Slow down!
I can't tell you how often I've seen newer artists ask for a critique on something they did 'really quick'.
The worst thing I've seen newer artists do is ask for a critique on something they've done from imagination....
If you remember anything on your journey's to improving your art and finding yourself in art, it would be this:
1. Take your time. You cannot learn anything quickly. Just assume no one can. I can't. The artists I admire didn't. The masters didn't.
a. Don't skip steps. Take your time to learn how something looks before trying to do it from your head. Always
